Hey metfoo, what I posted was an update on the option. I too know it was posted back in July, BUT no one had any info on option codes and cost. That is why I posted, what I posted. Not taking anything away from your previous post, I just added more info to help anyone who may want to order this option. We all know some dealers may not even know about this new option, so I figured it would be good for the people who want this option to have the code, and make it easier to go to a dealer and order their car.

If production on the dark IUP doesnt start to dec 5th and I were to make my order of an 06 with the dark IUP. Would it start its process of getting a build date since that date would be after the dec 5th dark IUP date. Or will nothing happen with the order untill dec5th thus making the wait that much longer?

I have an order in for the normal IUP but I am thinking about stopping it and going with the dark IUP.

If you order something that isn't available, the order goes on material hold until that option becomes available (I ordered the 64W wheels in July, but order was held until 9/15).

After it comes of material hold, then you go into C/U heck with everyone else.

I waited for the 64W wheels and couldn't be happier. You should get exactly the car you want...

Besides, how do you know if you're order will be pulled before 12/5 anyway? It's only a couple more weeks, it might be worth it.

Personally, I was going to wait for the dark IUP, but my order got serialized on 9/29. My only concern was that I wanted to see the dark IUP before ordering. I doubt that it will look exactly like the Shelby interior.

It's your car. Decide what you really want and DO IT!

Where'd you order yours?

My salesman at Vets Ford resigned today, but he never submitted my order.

He's going to work at Banner Ford in Mandeville and will order the car there.

That's fine by me, since it's WAY closer to my house.

I ordered the darker IUP a couple days before I got my build week (week of dec.12). Thanks to all for the info, I like the darker IUP much more than the original.

Thanks also to everyone for pointing me towards Mossy Ford (and Teri in particular) I have never had a better experience with a dealer. She is straight forward, hooked me up with all of the paperwork I wanted (sooner than promised), she helped with changes at the last second, and my car is getting built sooner than I thought...and on xplan!

(and no Teri did not ask me to post this, but she deserves it!)

I'm not actually expecting mine until late March, early April.

The way I figure it...

The order will go in this week.

Then Ford is shut down for 2 weeks at Christmas.

If it gets pulled in a timely manner, it'll be built around late January.

Getting the car from the plant to Mandeville may take forever though, since the New Orleans East railyard is still closed, all the cars for that area are going to Meridian, MS, and there's a HUGE shortage of truck drivers.

Oh well... it'll be worth the wait.

I just got off the phone with my friend who's ordering my car for me.

The Almonaster railyard is reopened. That's good news for you. It shouldn't be as painful to get the car from train to the dealer when it gets in.

Good luck!

NEW UPDATE!!!

I just have gotten an update on my post. We received new price increases yesterday for all Ford vehicles involved, and the IUP is now a $460 option, up $10 from before. Price level is now at 650 for Mustangs, up from level 625. Not that big of a deal, but I just wanted to let people know about it. Also, no pics of the Charcoal IUP either. We'll probably see someone's car before we see the pic from Ford.

I did it multiple times as a salesman.

Keep in mind I was working at Bill Watson Ford at the time and it was only a couple mile drive there.

Once it hits the railyard, DB Ford can ask that it gets to the dealership ahead of the stock units. Follow the rail car online and let them know when you know it's on the ground at Almonaster.

I changed my 06 GT order to the dark IUP. I am scheduled for build the week of Dec 5th. I can't wait 64Ws and dark IUP . .
My previously ordered mustangs have showed up exactly 20 days from production date. I'm hoping for delivery right before or right after christmas.

My '06 GT was finally serialized today (Dec 2, 2005) after ordering on Aug 2. I also changed my order to the dark IUP about a month ago and am dying to see what it looks like. Please post some pictures when you receive yours. You seem to be the first one scheduled to receive the new option.
Thanks

I checked the status and my car is due the week of 12/28... Is anyone on this list expecting their car w/ the Dark IUP BEFORE the end of the year?

I'm anxious to know if the Dark IUP will include the satin A/C register rings...
