First, I want to make sure I mention this. I looked all over the site, to see if anyone (ISELLFORD, or Brad) had posted this info yet. I didn't see anything about it, so I went ahead and added the info. Mods, if you have to move this, I understand, as this probably belongs in the Production Info subsection, but I figured this is fairly BIG news, as many have been waiting for information on it, and I also thought more people would see it in here. Also, I do not have any pics yet. We haven't been shipped anything from Ford in regards to a "hotsheet" or "picture card for this new option. I'm sure that will come soon.
While at work yesterday, I went in to our order bank, and added the "fanblade" wheels to my GT I have on order. When I was finished, I looked in the order guide section. Low and behold an updated order guide that only came out on the 1st of November. In the newer order guide, there is 2 new order codes for options, 67L, and 67D. These codes correspond to the color of the dash you want. 67L is the Satin Aluminum, like we have always seen, the other option (67D) is the Dark IUP
. To let you know, this option is officially called "Charcoal Aluminum intrument panel applique, with ribbed pattern" The option code for this again, is 67D. When you order the IUP, you have your choice of silver or charcoal dash trim.
Now, I went to see if there was any info on price. I tried to build a car (GT coupe)in CONCEPTS, with only 18G, and 67D. Funny thing, the computer said its an "INVALID OPTION". I then hit the "Help" button, which will display ALL options, and their prices. From what it looks like, the IUP hasn't changed in price. It's still $450, and you now have your choice of dash colors at N/C. I figure Ford hasn't updated their computers as of yet, so that is why the option isn't working yet. Now, until there is a new price list (there wasn't this morning), the price is speculation, but it seems to be correct, as I can't imagine them charging you more money for a dark dash.
I'm sorry I can't post the new order guide, as we don't have a scanner with the computer I use, but if Brad or Ed Miller (ISELLFORD) see this post, maybe they can help me and add it to the topic. Again, I'm sorry I don't have any pics, but at least we have the order code for it, and hope this helps some out, who have been eagerly waiting for information in this option.

The Dark IUP Dash is Scheduled for Release in December as Per Parts Cataloging. It would be a Very Expensive Retrofit BTW. ALL Parts are Not Listed at this Time. I know somebody is going to ask.

Great information and find! Can't wait to see the pictures. My car will probably be serialized here in the next couple of weeks, so the sooner the better as far as the pics go. Thanks for keeping an eye out!

It would be nice if you could get that leather on the dash and other parts too

Agreed, especially an ICAP like that instead of solid red seats.
Yeah whats the deal with this. I tried to order my car some time ago but due to Katrina I dont know for sure if it has been put in. If it wasnt in yet I would concider changing to this darker IUP. So if its on the order sheets its ready to be ordered? Or will this hold my car up forever?
Can the satin rings be changed to chrome?

. I just went on CONCEPTS, the dealer ordering system, and built a Mustang GT with the dark colored dash. Now, when I first posted the topic, the computers weren't accepting the codes 67D or 67L, for the charcoal and silver panel. Now the computer is reading them, and looks like you can NOW order this option. Nothing came up on the previous screen that would tell me otherwise. Like Brad stated, the production doesn't start till December 5th, but that wasn't listed, so maybe, if you ordered the option, it might get scheduled sooner. Hope this helps some.
Yeah Kevin, any chance the black vents with satin rings are going to be available? I've been wanting to get rid of the silver vent blades on mine, and if I have to buy all new vents, might as well get satin also. My guages will still have the chrome on them, but I can live with that.

I noticed it the other day in my Frontline magazine. I think I'll like the charcoal better than the silver myself. I'll have to see it in person
Also, the Mustang will be offered with side air bags as a stand alone option now so you don't have to buy a whole package to get them. A very good idea if you ask me
