Sorry to see this happened to your beautiful Stang I hope repairs go smoothly.

It brings to mind a story from my high school days. I was hitchhiking somewhere and had somebody drive by at 60mph and throw a chocolate cupcake at me. It hit me in the chest and exploded. A 60 mph cupcake hurts...and bruises!

wow.....................

Crap! Ouch! Sorry that happened to you. Sometimes people really suck...even if they have good aim.

Dam does that ever suck!!
I was been rearended about 6 month's ago by and Expedition while sitting at a red light. Didn't do much damage, just had the back bumper replaced. Could not help but laugh a little bit when I read about your "cupcake" escapade

I hit a flying goose while doing 60.it came across amd hit the windshield only and shattered it. I had all these tiny pieces of glass stuck on my face neck and arms.having sunscreen on didn't help either. Drove the last 4 miles home with my head out the window.never forget that one. I got a free box of steaks out of the deal from the windshield repairer though!!

Maybe that can be your new nickname or was it in high school "cupcake".

I hit a road tire a few months after i got mine, I know the feeling. My damage wasn't bad though and I never got it fixed
Same here

Its not the ideal way to break in a car unfortunatley. On the bright side the damage is only cosmetic and you will be back on the road very soon. Perhaps you can take advantage of the situation and chip in the extra $$ for an aftermarket bumper cover.

Yeah, that sucks bad! I was on 275 at the 8 mile exit when a truck in front of me had a full sheet of plywood fly up and off the truck. I was able to swerve out of the way. A van ended up running it over, but no one got hurt. Novi resident here!

I was driving East along I-96 near Brighton, MI on Friday morning at 7:15AM when the truck in front of me ran over a rather long piece of aluminum road debris. Much to my dismay, this hunk of aluminum wanted a closer look at my Mustang. Not the end of the world by any means, but I've had the car just over a month and it's already going to the shop for body work... . I'm going to have the dealership take care of the holes in the carpet when they replace the bumper and fix the right front quater panel.

I could see getting hit by the cupcake wrapper, but who'd throw a tasty cupcake at someone? The nerve of some folks. I could never waste a cupcake no matter how tempting the target.

Update #2:
After washing my car over the weekend I discovered the following issues that I am not happy with (keep in mind that it was dark out when I picked the car up and the weekend was the first time I had to look-over the car thoroughly):
  • Entire car: Overspray affecting all surfaces from bumper-to-bumper.
  • Right-front quarter panel: finishing not completed along lip inside engine bay; obvious when compared to left-hand side.
  • Hood: right-hand underside lip appears affected by repair; obvious when compared to left-hand underside lip.
  • Left front bumper-cover (where quarter panel and headlight housing meet): Scratches.
Also, I had my car in for carpet replacement (warranty work) on Monday and while it was at the dealer they managed to rack up the following damages:

Passenger-side
  • Door sill: Paint chipped (1/4â€) on inclined surface; paint scratched on sill.
  • Inside door panel: Four scratches below sub-woofer housing.
  • Outside of Door: 4†scratch between handle and mirror.
  • Rear corner: Scratches.
Driver-side
  • Sill plate: Not secured to sill.
  • Door sill: Scratches on outer lip on inclined surface.
Car is going back tomorrow to review the damage/unfinished repairs with the Service Manager and Body Shop Manager...will follow-up once I know more.

Sorry to hear about the dealerships uncaring attitude towards your pride and joy. The overspray will come off using minimal effort with a clay bar. I'd be afraid the dealership would use a buffer and leave swirl marks on the paint judging from their previous work.

I hope they take better care of you when you bring it back in.

dealership was very apologetic and acknowledged each issue as an error on their part that needs to be corrected. car will go back to dealer at the beginning of next week.

At least you didn't run into this piece of aluminum at 70 mph.

Well, here's a short summary of the story. 21,000 lb. roll of aluminum fell of flat bed truck on interstate I-35. Vehicle following ran into the roll of aluminum. Both passengers in the vehicle that hit the aluminum were killed in this freak accident on interstate I-35 in Minnesota. Ouch.

I know when I had my little slip up with my garage ... I noticed swirls in my paint's finish when I went to pick it up and I refused to take it.

They re did the paint job ... and low and behold, the hsitty swirls were gone ...

If a job is not right, don't let them screw you over
