Ugly. Even with the engine. I don't care if it's a drift car or 1/4 mile car.....Ugly is ugly.

A drift car is not setup to oversteer. They use momentum and weight shift control to get the car to break traction and torque/hp to keep the wheels spinning. Millen's GTO was tested and did far better in the slalom than a stock GTO -- much to the surprise of the tester (forgot which mag). Too much oversteer and it will spin or be too difficult to change directions.
They, in fact, ARE set up to oversteer. You're the resident expert here, apparently, and you don't know that? Even without power, the slip angles of the rear are greater than the slip angles of the front. That's the definition of oversteer. You can have oversteer without ever breaking traction.

Millen's GTO did better in a slalom than a stock GTO in the C&D tests. I read them and also saw the TV version. They even talk about how it is set up to oversteer.

The fact of the matter is that while they could make it go faster through that artificial slalom, I would NOT want to drive that car at its limits on a track or hills. If it were better for that, it would be set up like that by racers. Racers want neutral handling, with a highly controllable oversteer by modulation of the throttle (not "breaking the tires loose").

Am i on crack??? doesn't a drift car go relatively slow? not nearly fast enough to need a rear wing like that to generate downforce? Actually wouldn't rear downforce be counter productive to drifting anyway?

morons
Drifters need to score style points. Speed is only one aspect (it doesn't count to look good while going slow, the faster you go while keeping a nice drifting style, that's where the points are).

But the drifters know that the wing does nothing for them at their speeds. It's like wearing the right clothes of you are a figure skater. If you went out in the wrong stuff, you risk losing points to the judges.

And, by the way, it is Drifting, not Drift Racing. It isn't a race.
