Hey guy, we all can express our opinion on the car...if we like it we can say so, if we don't we can say so...hence the reason for this site being called a FORUM.

Yikes! Sorry but I don't care what it is used for, it is a rolling freak show. And if that means I am "dating myself", so be it. My wife will be ticked when she finds out I'm dating again.

I kinda like the stripes, could just be that white cars need stripes in my opinion.

I'm trying real hard to respect the point of view that "anything that gets more people who would be doing the import thing to look at domestic cars is GOOD", but I really cannot.

The more attention the Mustang gets from the Drifting crowd, the more the aftermarket will aim at them. Meaning that I'll be able to find stuff to make my car oversteer radically (bad for anything but drifting), I'll be able to find bad wings and bad aero devices (which, by the drifters own admission, are for winning points and don't do anything effective for their cars). etc. The only parts that will be available for performance will be billet polished megabuck overpriced stuff, and $200 ground straps.

It's like saying if noisy obnoxious people wanted to buy houses in my neighborhood, I should be happy, it shows my neighborhood is popular with noisy obnoxious people. I don't get that.

Reminder, everybody. Drifting is the sport equivalent of Ice Skating. It takes skill, it takes practice, but you don't get judged on your speed, you get judged on your artistic ability.

You always need downforce when your car is sliding sidways.

I'm waiting for the imports to realize it's even harder in the dirt next thing you'll know World of Outlaws will be the hottest thing out there. I mean shiat, american motorheads have been drifting since the '50s where do you think nascar started.

ooh but now it's an art form. what? like figure skating c'mon!

not so good. i really detest this cars styling. but i guess a cobra engine is nice, but WTF is the point of putting in and older 4.6 when the thing just got a freaking re-design. why not just add a blower to the 3valve4.6 instead of putting in the old 4.6? but thats just me

DOHC, engine built for boost, tried and testing tuning, no development time, known results. They have so many other things they need to sort out, it would make things worse to add a new engine to that list.

Basically, it saves them a whole lot of time in testing the new engine to see how much boost it could take under race conditions. The old cobra motor works, works well, and they know it inside and out by now. And the DOHC may be an advantage.

A drift car is not setup to oversteer. They use momentum and weight shift control to get the car to break traction and torque/hp to keep the wheels spinning. Millen's GTO was tested and did far better in the slalom than a stock GTO -- much to the surprise of the tester (forgot which mag). Too much oversteer and it will spin or be too difficult to change directions.

Ultimately, the parts a drifter wants are sticky tires that progressively loose traction, stiffer chassis, better suspension components, lighter unsprung weight. Granted the outlandish body kits and wings do no good at low speeds, but that is part of their judging (car appearance). Leave that stuff off and maybe change the spring rates, but everything else will be stuff you would want on your car.
