Ugghh!!! I've been trying soooo hard to wait for the GT500 next year, but I've never been one for patience. With order banks for the 2006 models opening this week it's getting awful tempting!

What's making it harder is I don't even know if i'll be able to get a GT500 as they'll probably be pretty rare and I won't pay over MSRP.

GT500:
-'s = long wait, hard to get(if at all), high payments
+'s = less mods to make, sooooo fast and good looking, factor

2006GT:
-'s = all the mods to get it how I want, not as as the GT500, will
be less unique.
+'s = get it sooner, lower payments= more money for mods, did I
mention i'll have it sooner?, still a hot car!

Man, I just don't know. Anybody else in this situation?

Buy a GT, mod it, use it for 9 months, trade it in for a GT500, lose $9K, and make the dealer very very happy.

After giving you such solid advice I think I'll wait for mine.

Lol, I'd imagine it's ALOT easier waiting when you've alread got an 04 Cobra! My slow **** Xterra just ain't cuttin' it! This will be my first sports car. I almost bought a Mystichrome Cobra about 7-8 years ago. I think it was a used '96, but I was 20 and the insurance was more than the car payment. I'm ready now, though!

I love the Xterra. My wife had a '00 for 2 years and it was great, no problems, it seems the tires didn't lose any thread w/20K miles. You can wait.

Same boat. I am starting to tilt toward a tungsten silver '06 Vert with the 18" rims. I want to see a Price List before I order. Plus we don't know when the GT500 Vert will come out so it is probably another year for that(weather is too nice not to have a Vert in CA). I can't wait that long.

I tried to put a deposit on the GT500 at MSRP and the guys at the dealership almost died laughing. They expect to only get a couple and there is no way they will sell them at sticker. They are calling it an auction car. It sounds likt they will put together a bidders list, and then call us when the car arrives. Fat man wins.

I'm going to build a GT500 lite. Saleen blower for power, then as much body interior and suspension as I get from the GT500. Don't worry. I woun't pretend it's the real thing. I expect to get it done for about $12,500 over the cost of the car.
