Tuner needed for daily driver?

Hey guys, I have an '07 GT 5 speed (3:31 rear end) with a K&N CAI and an MGW shifter. Everything else is pretty much bone stock. I've always been interested in getting one of the SCT tuners, but I'm wondering if it's worth it since my car is a daily driver. I've read some things where the race tunes make the car harder to drive? I know a lot of you guys own these things. Opinions good and bad are welcome.

Absolutely 110% worth it. My car is a daily as well. I run the hybrid tune from AM which is a combo of race and street. Is the throttle more sensitive? Yes. But you get use it very quick. Definitely not hard to drive. Its just more fun to drive. Such a great easy way to increase performance not to mention you'll get better mpg for your daily.

GET IT! Like the comment above me, it won't make it harder to drive...it'll make it better to drive! more fun, and you will see an improvement in MPG...which is always a good thing

Not sure who told you that, but it's not harder to drive at all. It's just more responsive. I think it's well worth it.

It depends on where you get your tune from and how they build it. My 93 race tune does two types of throttle: lazy and eat your face off. It can be just about impossible to do a quick but not asinine launch from a traffic light. My 91 Performance tune on the other hand is perfect. Same tuner for both. Both based off the same dyno run

I'd definitely tune it and consider a lower gear too.

That's the stock gear size, wouldn't it probably end bad to go to lower than original?

Not at all. he has 3.31 and I would definitely suggest 3.73's. as I've had it explained to me the higher the number the lower the gear. somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if he swapped for say 3.73's he would have more power on the low end and hit his powerband sooner meaning faster acceleration. he would also cruise at highway speeds at a little higher rpm...he'd also have a lower top speed with them right? I'm not saying this is the answer just searching for some clarity to my confusion as well

I had the 93 race tune on my 06 GT and found that the throttle was crisp but had to go with the 91 performance tune because when I tapped the throttle in reverse the car would jump and if anyone would drive my car I'd be worried that they would hit something. You're wondering why I'd let anyone drive my car, valet or mechanic, would be the only time.

Dont forget, the '08 Bullitt has 3.73's from the factory.

I did the swap from 3.55 to 3.73 and dont regret it for a second. Definitely more torque down low and ive found my gas milage around town actually increased. Just based on the change in shift points

Does changing gears or adding a custom tune affect the bite point or the feel of the clutch at all? Just curious.
