As it states, the trunk doesn't pop open like it should. I have to stand back there and lift up on it while I push the trunk release button or turn the key, even then it takes a few times for it to open. I'm gonna have to take it in and have them fix it......

I had the same issue recently. I noticed that it clicked and opened progessively slower over months until it would not open at all. Like you I had to push up or down after unlocking to get it to open. I first thought that the seal was sticking to the trunklid, so I gave it coat of armorall to no avail. I then sprayed a little WD-40 up into the lock mechanism from the trunk side (not in the keyhole.) This worked immediately, no more problem. The only concern I have is that WD-40 is sort of thin and tends to evaporate. If the prblem occurs again I will use a thicker lubricant like aerosol lithium grease. Good luck, I hope you don't have to take it to the dealer.

Mine still does it.

Basically pop the trunk.... then push down on the lid and up.. and it should open right up.

It's a weird problem though.
