I was told by a few mechanics and by Airaid that if I picked up either the K&N CAI or Airaid CAI that I wouldn't need a tune, that they would both work fine without it. Is this true ? Their reason for this was that their systems are milder, don't really change much and only see a 7-10 HP gain Compared to the other brands that require a tune and see a 20-30 HP gain . Sure I would love the HP gain but can't see myself spending $700+ for a C&L CAI and tuner . Would I be ok with a Airaid minus the tune? The last thing that I want to do is buy an Airaid system and then find out that reguardless i'm going to need a tune and should have went with a C&L .
