Strange, everyone's car has been "in transit" for a month now (gathered from previous posts). I think we should all stop posting "my 2005 is in transit" until it's actually "in transit".

Better yet, when ya' all have photos.

Noone's car was "in transit" until after last Friday when Ford actually gave the OK to ship, as of last Thursday my cars status showed TBD. This Thursday it shows "In transit" with an ETA of 10-14-04

9-9-04 was two days after production began.

They didn't get the ok to ship until Last friday Oct 1st, since no cars were shipped before they got the ok to ship, anyone claiming a status of "in transit" before Oct 1st is either lieing or misinformed.

The person who contacted me from my Dealership was my Father, My Father tells me my order now says "In Transit" with an ETA of 10-14-04, I have no reason to disbelieve him.

This combined with the ok to ship on Oct 1st and the various people scattered all across the country who have received word that their car has shipped leads me to believe.

Got a call from dealer today. "Update on your vehicle as follows, Shipped to Convoy, Delivery week of 10/11. Hope to have it sometime next week, no 05 Mustangs as of 5:00PM today."

So, I stopped by on my way home after work, got my Invoice, an 05 Brochure and Product Information Book.

I have the same status. I have a question, what is Convoy ? Is it a train company, or a truck company, or both ? BTW .. congrats ! I know you must be bouncing off the walls in excitement

Are any of you with "in transit" living in Florida by chance. Mine was produced, but the last call I received still had my car at TBD.

Ok fellas, kind of an odd situation here.

My car was built the 29th an the sheet my dealer showed me said "In transit" and ETA 10/4

So Was my car shipped right away basically?

Anyway, I went there last night to sign the papers. The shipment they were hoping for didn't come in. In fact, they havent gotten a new car shipment since 10/4. So they are basically saying it'll come whenever the enxt car shipment does.

They explained to me how the shipping works, aroudn ehre. The cars are railed down to Lorain, then put in a central holding lot, where the truck drivers hand pick which cars they take where. Most likely, they'll fill their trucks up with a bunch of cars going to one dealer so its convenient for them. So your car could sit their for days in the railyard begging to be delivered, but its all in the hands of some random truck driver out there and wehre he wants to go that day.

Anyway, there's a chance itll come today, or tomorrow, or sunday, and they said latest Monday they think, I'll keep you posted.

3 : a group convoyed or organized for convenience or protection in moving. That's what the dictionary says. Convoy, usually refers to Trucks. May mean they are just organizing for delivery or could mean, shipped to transport terminal unless they load on tranports for delivery to local Dealers from plant. Ours is coming by truck only, I'm only 45 miles from AAI.

Would you rather have had them personally drive it the 45 minutes.

Mine's coming convoy too. Dealer says that's what they say when they put it on a truck. Don't know why they wouldn't put a bazillion on a train to california then truck them from Benicia yard.

Actually, I would rather drive it ! Seriously, I would gladly get a ride to the rail head or staging lot so that I could drive the car back to the dealer lot. That would be a hoot. And I still would pay the $625 shipping fee. This car is a once in a lifetime experience for me.
