Track day...with video!
I took a track day several weeks ago to get a few laps under my belt. Since it was a drift day it didn't count. This time around it did, and the track was run clockwise so it was a learning experience since i've ridden but never driven clockwise.
Anyway, here's a video of my first few laps without my "coach".

Yup, my first spin out. I'm just glad it happened where it did since that's the widest part of the track. I kept it out of the dirt and more importantly, the tire wall. I was clocking 1:35's or so all day but during competition hot laps I clocked a 1:30.8 followed by a 1:29.23 which was my fastest of the day. I placed 4th in my class out of 6 but for my first time i'm pleased. I was also the only domestic out there so its kind of hard to judge how "well" i'm doing in the field. I have video of the "good" laps which also show me not driving with crazy lines but they need some editing since I forgot to turn the GoPro off. I'll get those posted this week.

After a few laps don't use your e-brake... Your brake pads will be hot and the constant contact with the rear rotors will cause them to warp. It's awesome to see you getting in to a fun track hobby ;o)

I hope you have car insurance that covers you on the track and within a timed environment, otherwise I wouldn't post that info for your insurance provider to find. CYA

Hey, it's one thing to talk about going fast, it's another thing to do it. I say nice going! Probably much better than I could do (even the spin...sad really LOL).
Nice to see someone puttin the pedal down where you should be. Good luck in your progression!

Whammer - I always thought my first spin would scare the crap out of me and make me a little scared to get back on the track. It actually did the opposite. I couldn't wait to get back out there and fix my lines(this video was of my 3rd/4th lap).
I really had a blast! Next step is better brakes all around.
I'll post the video of my hot laps which show a massive improvement once I get it edited.
