The 100K mile refresh project

Ok, actually the 105K mile refresh project since I've been a bit lazy. I bought the car in March of 2005 and it's sitting at 105K miles currently. I drive it every day on the Arizona freeways and it sits in the Arizona sun every day at work, and for many long hours on the weekends in the parking lots of various golf courses. Good Lord do I have a lot of rock chips in the paint!

I applied the full Zaino treatment to it the week after I bought it, and then didn't touch it again as far as wax, polish, etc. since. I figured it was more than time to get around to doing it again.

In addition, the current list of refresh project updates are (in no particular order):
  • Zaino treatment on the paint
  • New brakes and rotors
  • Replace the spark plugs (nope, still factory)
  • Replace all hoses with braided hoses
  • Wash and clean up under the hood
  • Long tube headers and cats
  • Replace transmission fluid
  • Replace antifreeze
  • Replace rear diff fluid (done)

As it stands, this is the car after the wash in Dawn, claybar, wash in Zaino soap, 2 coats of Z5, 1 coat of Z2, and 3 coats of the Z6 gloss spray applied in between each of the coats of polish. I will apply one more coat of Z2 and one more of Z6, but my arm is going to fall off right now, so no more today.

I'm pretty happy with the condition of the car after this many miles so I'm here to post pictures and progress in order to brag a little. You are welcome to go somewhere else if you feel the shameless self promotion thing is just too much for you to take. I keed, I keed...

Looks great for that amount of mile. I just hoped mine looks the same at that same mileage, but at only 10k on mine and it is 4 years old, my car will be a classic by then!

Looks fantastic! I hope Awesome looks as good in 40K... I don't think you got lots to worry about, she's in great shape! And all in a daily driven sun worshippin' (by force, though, sounds like) car too.

I am in awe you picked black in AZ. You're way braver than I, sir.

Your car is young, I have almost 180K with the original plugs.

Guess I don't feel so bad about having just 80k KM on mine with original plugs and original diff fluid (which is scheduled to be changed soon)

I just did a lot of the 100K items at 85K, and I am glad I did.

She drives so much better. Smoother shifting, engine response - everything feels sweeter, smoother and tighter. The difference in how she runs and feels is just plain amazing to me.

Your ride is a thing of beauty, Arizona! I hope as you get the work done that you get the same amazing improvement I have felt the past several days.
