I've had this done before on a set of '93 Mazda MX6 5-spoke wheels. The quality of the aluminum in the wheels was almost as good as a forging and they turned out great. I'd talk to a specialty wheel dealer in your area and see if they know someone locally who does it for them. The only thing I had to do to maintain them was apply Mother's polish about every other month, since they were not recoated with clear after the polish.

It can be done, however it is a very painstaking process for a individual who have never done it. I have polished the old 5.0 intakes before it takes hours to really make them right.

yeah i know what you are saying
me personally i have polished my firebird tpi intake runners top and base takeing all the sand casting out of it then brought it to a high luster with some jewlers rouge and tripoli (sp? on all that)
i allso have done it with a set of gta rims for the car that wasnt too hard though
just got some spray aircraft stripper and tapped off the tire after a few hours most of it washed off with the hose then anougher coat of stripper and a high polish with some mothers and a dremal tool
i guess my main question here is
#1 is it paint for the color or powder coat?
#2 do you think it would look good on the car?
