I have used torque app and its decent. I like dash command a bit more but either app will do the trick. The key is not getting a garbage Bluetooth Adapter for it. DO NOT BUY A CHEAP 10 dollar OB2 scan tool apapter. Spend the $70 dollars and get a good quality one.

I bought a cheap 10 dollar one and it broke after using it 5 times. I did research on this and all the advice said the very same thing. Don't buy that cheap China knock off crap. Did I listen to the advice and reviews, NOPE. Bought that cheap $hit and it was just that cheap $hit

Here is what I would personally recommend for you to buy and I myself bought this one and still have it a year later. I use this all the time. Here is a link to eBay of the brand and exact one. Not saying you have to buy it from this dude but buy the same brand and model.

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...262094&alt=web

There are legit ones and knock off's from China. This is the same one I got but mine shipped from in the US. I'm sure its made overseas as in most stuff but this one is legit and good quality.

I use the app periodically with a cheap $10 adapter, and I've had no issues in over 2 years.

I have a PLX Kiwi corded adapter, works great- bought a bunch of other cheapies till finding one that works, then bought one of those for each car- i'll try to find the vendor.

the app is awesome- with a decent phone mount, can get some pretty cool video/telemetery

heres a pic of one that works- but bought about a yr ago- chinese can change overnight...

something else- on a S197, I'd get a right angle extension cable, else its gonna be in your way...even the PLX with the cable sticks down too far

Probably not the same seller, but this is the adapter that I use: http://m.ebay.com/itm/391111374712

For $6 it was worth a chance to me, and I've had no problems.

I used a cheap ELM327 clone BT adapter off Amazon for a while on Torque Lite, no problems. Then I upgraded to Torque Pro and the data stream would drop out every few seconds. Later I got the OBDLink MX off Amazon to reprogram the BCM on my Focus to enable some retrofitted foglights(needed one that could access both high speed and medium speed busses) and it works flawlessly with the Pro app. Here's the link:

most will not work with Apple, FYI

I keep one adapter in each car, you just never know!

No issues and have had for years, cheap one from newegg

I love the torque app tho
We had fun checking the boost on my sons GTP

And recently needed to monitor coolant temps on my focus as was throwing a thermostat code.

I use an Arkon SM415 with the windshield suction cup. I keep it mounted near where you would put the inspection/etc. sticker, and it's worked great for me for several month so far.

Should of said I live in Florida and windshield mounts don't last no time here. And I use the AC to much to use a vent mount.

Texas here, so I get what you're saying. I haven't used the AC mount for the same reason as you, but the windshield mount works pretty well. It held up better in the heat than it has in the winter though. It never fell during the summer, but it's fallen twice during the winter so far. That's suction cups for you though...

It also came with an adhesive pad to stick the suction cup to the dashboard, but I haven't tried it. I don't expect the adhesive to hold in the summer (especially on a textured plastic dash), but who knows.
