Go back to that Dealer in Houston and say, "Look, I can drive down to San Antonio, and get one of these for less then that." See what he says.... B)

It might be better to wait a couple of months since we're already starting to see deals on V6's. Who knows what we might see by spring?

I think the V6 is going to be one of those cars that you can really get a good deal on!

Long live the V6! :worship:

Nice read, Falchion. I was at 5 Star last night with a buddy who's never seen the new Mustangs. We saw a black 05 V6 manual...might have been the same one. Also saw a V6 with the IUP-lite. Even the IUP-lite looks better than a non-IUP car. Something about a leather vs vinyl steering wheel.

On your drive, did you go around the dealer first then 820 then exit Rufe Snow? When I drove the GT, they let me go 820 immediately, then exited Pipeline, then turned on Rufe Snow. No construction and no traffic on the highway.

Yeah, we went back around the Dealership like I've done now three times. The Sales lady went over some construction bumps in the road about 35-40 MPH and the Mustang handled it with ease.

I was surprized that the Dealer had so many V6's there. Just a couple of months ago, it was hard to find any 05 Mustangs, now they have 10 V6's......

Here's a pic of the interior of the Red one they had in the show room......

The 70's gas crisis sure made some slow cars.

Edit: Getting to 1000 posts in the same week I got my car, not too shabby a week and temps suppose to be in the 70's over the holiday weekend, looking to be a great week.

Must be nice to live in Florida, except maybe when the Hurricanes come along.....

Sounds like it might be good place for a vert? B)

With the torn up roads they have here in Texas, I think the Mustang will be perfect. It goes over the bumps really well.

Plus, with more and more Mustangs coming onto the lots, there's a better chance of gettting a good deal!

Does the V6 5spd use the same shift *** as the V8 5spd? I really like the style of it, and was hoping they did not put a (cheeper) one in the V6

That's a good question. It reminds me of what happened that I forgot to tell you guys.

We were going to go for a test drive in a silver V6 5 speed manual, but when we climbed in I said, "Hey! where's the shift ****?" The bare rod was sitting there sticking up out of the trans. with no **** to be seen anywhere. We looked in the glove box, center console, everwhere. It wasn't there!

But, we finally took the Black one out that I posted on the first, and man was it fun!

In answer to your question, I think it was the same **** as the GT, but the stick itself sticks up a little more out of the trans then the one in the GT does. Not a whole lot more, maybe 3/4 of an inch?

Anyways, it was a whole lot of fun, you should take one for a test drive you'll like it!

Hey Falchion,

Actually I just read your review, that is after purchasing my Redfire V6 Manual Tran .
I absolutely agree with you. The one with the manual tran has great acceleration and torque, and I just love the looks of it

When it comes to HP, it has some hidden potential. With out any major changes you can get 50 extra HP. If you want to add some real power and want to race with the GTs you can add the Vortex supercharger, which should be coming out hopefully later this year, but having a 6 year Factory warranty I am thinking of going with a +50 hp tuneup rather then 100+ HP supercharger, which will void the Ford Manufacturing warranty.

V6 has a bit better response "stability" on curves due to the 150 pound lighter engine than the GT's, so its quite fun driving it on HWY 1. It cuts those curves like butter

GTs are real ugly ones with big spot lights in front, that why Steve Saleen change the grille on his Mustangs S281s
