Tires. What should i get?
So im in a bind between some nitto nt555 and dunlop dirreza dz101... I do autocross and am thinkin of the nittos in a 255/50/17 or dunlops in 235/55/17.. Thinkin what is best since nittos will be a little wider altho i think dunlops are better... So is wider better or shoul i go with factory width on dunlops... Thx
I'm running the NT555 its not a bad tire, I'd rate it somewhere between the OE Goodyears for the GT500 and the BFG KDW2s I replaced them with.
The Invos also come in the 255/50R17 your looking for and I think that would be a better choice over the NT555s in the Nitto line.

Still have my NT555's I bought a couple of years ago. Great tire! Only two issues, weather and weather. In rain, they are ok, but don't inspire confidence to get on the throttle much (like it's all that smart to anyway, so not a big deal to me). And second, they were almost scary on snow. So outside of that, they have worn wayy better than the factory tires, have had all the grip I've wanted, and look cool. I've been very happy.
Yeah, living in Virginia, I don't have to deal with sub-45 degree temps very much. Same with snow, which never lasts. I should mention I don't drive it much in the winter anyway.
I didn't mean to make it sound like rain is much more of an issue with 555's than most other tires. But lack of siping along with how they channel water just makes me more wary of hydroplaning than with some other tires I've driven on. Like I said, I love the tires, they've been great for me at what they are supposed to do.
