Tire recommendation please (replacing BFG KDWS)

I'm on my second set of BFG KDWS (factory tires), and the only thing I like about them is the price (I got them for $89 each a couple years ago, although right now they appear to be around $170).

Any recommendations for a different all-weather tire? I'd love to spend less than $100, but maybe $150 is more realistic. If I had to, I'd go $200, but they'd have to have some significant advantage over the KDWS.

Try the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, I went with the 255/45/18s and have been happy with them, but they will probably run you around $200 each.

I was really pleased with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero's that came on my 2011 stock. Good wet/dry traction in my opinion. I believe they're around $110-120 each.

Continental Extreme Contact DWS are awesome all season performance tires. I put 255/45/18's on my '07 GT's fanblades....

Summitomo HTR Z III's. Very good tires, reasonably priced, great in the rain.

Great replies - thanks.

Five Oh Brian - does the larger size of the Continentals make a noticable difference with the fanblades? Do they look thicker/better? Or no noticable difference.

How do I know what the max size tire is that the fanblades can handle?

My stock answer - 255/45R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+, its a 45k tire that rides a hellalot better than the KDWS with good all season capability and will offer an improvement in handling as well (and not just due to the slightly increased section width) over the KDWS.

Nitto NT555's, I have em in 255/45/18 all around and I love em. They look cool, drive good, and they were comparatively cheap. I'm a very happy customer.

I recently replaced the BFG's on my car with these. They are much more quiet and smoother riding than the BFG's. Wet traction is much better too, and the car needs very little steering correction.

Without getting into another damm tire debate. Nitto 555 is pretty good and Toyo is a step better. Michelin is the best out there if you want to pay for them.

Most people will probably pooh-pooh them because they're Korean, but the Kumho Ecsta ASX has been my tire of choice on all vehicles for the last five years. They have great wet handling, amazing dry handling, a cool looking tread pattern, and decent tire life (40k miles). They're also $157 each on Tirerack for 255/45/18, which is about as big as I'd go on the fanblades.

I got the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus and they've done pretty well so far. I didn't get to use them in the snow very much but when I did they were better than the BFG KDWS's. They've also done much better in the rain, I've slid a couple times with the BFG KDWS's.

I just threw on a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar. Got them off a GT500 for a steal....rims and tires. I hear they aren't they great, but they sure are better than the stock Pirelli's

I believe that with an 8.5" wide fanblade, you're good up to about a 275 mm section width. The 255's looked a little wider on my '07 fanblades, but not a huge difference over the OEM 235's...

A 275/40R18 requires a 9.0" or wider rim, in order to use a 275mm wide tire on the Mustang's 8.5" rim it would require going to a 275/45R18 which is nearly 28" tall however (27.7" being the nominal OD on that tire).
