thoughts on possible deal?

Good day all,

I am contemplating the following deal:

I currently own a 2009 V6 Coupe, auto., pony package, 20k. I paid 18 for it last year and currently owe 15k on it.

I recently stumbled upon a 2007 GT with leather, 5spd, and 30k on the odometer. They are looking for 21,995 for the GT.

i am taking my coupe in tomorrow for the once over to see how much they will give me. I like where my current payments are at....

any suggestions, hints, help, thanks!

I'd say throw them $2000 and your car for the 2007! If they don't take it, walk!

You can almost get a 2011 V6 for what they want for a 4 year old GT. Get them down a lot lower than that, give them your car or walk away. For some reason dealers like to keep the price of GT's high. I see S197 GT's sitting at my dealer's lot for upwards of 25k all the time. They had a CS last year in the used lot with 30k written across the windshield. I didn't even pay that for mine brand new after tax, title, license, extended warranty, etc!

They are selling my 09 GT for a little over 21k. If you live in or near phoenix it might be a good deal.

the dealer put it up on cl the day I traded it in.

update:

the sale price they had on the car was 24999. They marked it down to 22995. Got em down to 21995, big whoop.

They originally offered me 11,000 for my car. I laughed and said no thanks. After negotiating they have offered my 15500 which is 500 more than I owe on my car.

Is this a good deal?

You might want to talk price for the car you are going to buy and then mention the trade in.

If you are happy with the deal, take it. At least you aren't upside down on it but be careful with the fees they charge.

For that kind of money I'd be looking for a Bullitt.

The fact they lowered it 3 grand means they are sitting on it. I'd say the car is only worth 18 maybe 19k. You could always spend an extra 3k on a nicely equipped v6 2011.

Woops, did not realize it was salvage.

I still think $22 is too much for an 07 with 30k miles. I bought a 06 in 08, with 10k miles for 20.

For 22, it would be more like an 08 with 10k miles
