Thumbs up

I have a Sonic Blue on order and am thinking of changing my mind to one of the reds. I have seen 2 dirty Sonic Blues today and it just is too purple for my taste. Clean it looks awesome but let's face it, it is going to get rained on or dirty and don't know if I will be happy.

Will changing my color if I am C/U make a longer wait?

Any thoughts or pictures of reds would be appreciated.

Thanks Scott.

Changing the color while C/U will not hurt you at all. Of course, who knows if you would get serialized tonight. If a delay because of changing the color would deter you from doing so, I would wait until Monday just to be sure you don't get serialized tonight. If you don't, there will be no penalty for changing. As far as what color to change it to, TORCH RED ALL THE WAY! I am a little biased though.

HA! I just changed mine from Torch Red to Sonic Blue yesterday...

Why?

Well, I already have two red cars. And when I saw a Sonic Blue in the sun, WOW - it was a brilliant shade of saphire blue. Tough choice though.

And any of the colors look bad when they are dirty...

Check out these pics from a car that was on Ebay.

Do you like purple? Cause if you don't Sonic is really purple when it is cloudy or raining or dirty.

Man I am confused.. :bang:

Is torch red orange at anytime?

I do like redfire but I really want to put stripes on and don't know if that color will look good striped.

I agree - it does have a bit of a purple hue in certain lighting conditions.

I guess if you are having any doubts, then you have answered your own question.

One thing, the colors really look different in person. So look at as many different ones as you can to get a real feel for how they look on the car. I saw a Legend Lime GT over the weekend, and it really looked nice.

At first I did not like the Sonic much, but two guys at work have Sonic Blue trucks and the more I see it the more I like it.

To each his own...

That is the problem here, there are none on the lots not even v6's to look at!! :bang: Only seen a handful but I have to break my neck trying to see them on the otherside of the highway... :bang:

All the colors have their own little quirks. Of course I recommend the Torch Red since I drive one. In certain light it will get a more orange look to it which I like. Also, it will sometimes get a washed out look to it. I noticed that on the Torch Reds at the indoor car shows, must be the lights. Remember, it is not a metalic look like the Redfire. Either way is a great choice. Getting the red interior now that you switched? Ha, now you have to figure that one out too!

IMO, torch might look better striped and I own a redfire. I think this colour is vibrant and rich enough to stand on its own. Why ruin such a classy colour. Car looks fantastic without stripes and there aren't many colours of stripes which really suit redfire.

I originally planned on getting Sonic Blue also, but like you it was too purply for my taste....and I couldn't get the ICAP with that color too. I've been very happy with the Redfire. The only drawback is if you want to get racing stripes - you are limited in options...so far gold and silver/gray seem to be the only colors that look decent with Redfire.

Oops...forgot you asked for pic's of reds

Wow That's the first pic of a Redfire I've seen with the proper sized and spaced Shelby stripes. I'm not sure of that white with the metallic red paint...maybe pearl white instead? I"m going to try to photoshop those white stripes to silver or gray.

Well, as it has been said many times, it all comes down to personal preference.

I wanted the Sonic so bad until my wife and I went color shopping.

We went at different times of the day to get every perspective possible.

The sonic is too purple in too many lighting conditions for me.

I am a red guy by nature so I went with the torch. I think it will stripe out very nicely.

Well just called the dealer and I changed from Sonic Blue to Redfire. I just cannot deal with the purple......if it stayed that blue like in the sun 24/7 I would love to get that color.

Scott have you turned to the dark side. Say it isn't so. From a graphic designers point of view, sonic blue is not purple. Man, I wish people would stop saying it is. Also, I see someone has a car that looks like mine now. Bummer. Anyway here is a colour sample just to add to the debate. Blue vs Purple. Come on people. If you insist Sonic Blue is purple then I am gonna start saying Torch Red is a dark shade of pink
