Very thankful that your wife is OK. Please give her our best from all of us.

Good luck on the car and the insurance. I agree with you---I wouldn't want to fix that car either. Hopefully they won't.

Take care, and keep us posted. Thanks.

Glad the wife it ok.

I'm with everyone here. Use every legal avenue you can on that guy. See if your insurance company will go after him. Unfortunately, a guy like that probably has no insurance and no real assets, so you couldn't get a dime out of him.

Phil, very good to hear that you wife is O.K.

I hope you are not apart from your ride for too long.
Hopefully you will be able to get a new one.

Have you noticed how crazy kids get around these 05's?
I have experienced an inordinate amount of showing-off.

good luck with everything and glad your wife is ok. The same thing happened to me with my 91 Tbird when i was 16 about 6 years ago. I was cruisin down a side road at maybe 40mph or so and a guy in a toyota pickup truck blew a stop sign with no headlights on so i didnt see him coming. He hit my front right fender and almost pushed me off the small little overpass onto train tracks. Bent the frame of the car and whole ots of other front end damage. my poor 5.0L engine. He admitted to blowing the stop sign on the spot however he had a suspended license due to his suspended registration due to his lack of insurance. He also reeked of alcohol and the cop deemed him "not drunl" and let him go with a desk apperance ticket. I tried to sue him but he dissapeared, never showed to court and when i tried to get him served to sue him, they could not find him to do it.

Phil, I'm glad you wife is OK. That's the most important thing.

Now about the idiot in the neon, I'm surprised he's not in jail. The best advice I can offer is get a good lawyer.

Hug your wife and worry about the car on Monday. We are all praying for her and hope you get justice from that dirt ball.

Phil,

As everyone stated the most important is your wife coming out in one piece but Im sure we can all understand your frustration over car. Iv'e always said there are benefits of driving an older beater. This way in a situation like what happened the car is a non issue. Be thankful it turned out as it did. Metal can be replaced but a wife......well, I won't go there... God bless to you and your family.

Bubba, I'm right with the others on this. Very sorry about your GT and glad your wife is doing okay. I don't know what it is about Neons--I had one try to race me on a bridge in the pouring rain last night! The fact that they couldn't arrest the driver means the car wasn't stolen so hopefully the owner is more responsible than the driver and will turn out to have good insurance.

If the car turns out to not be totalled, check around for the BEST bodyshop in your area, not necessarily the ones recommended by the insurance companies. Find out where the real high-end rides go for bodywork around there. Porsches, Benzes, etc. And don't automatically take it to your dealer to fix without checking on their reputation. Not all Ford dealers have or use good bodyshops, either. I know from from personal experience. Best of luck.

Good to hear she's ok, and good thing she was driving a Mustang. Five star crash rating!

Forget about the car, it's really not important right now.

Yes, it's quite incredible what people do around this thing, motorcycles doing wheelies, toothless morons with junk El Camino's wanting to race.... It never ends

Glad everyone's ok Bubba

Look at the good part, your wife managed to avoid getting hit head on and she is OK and you got 5 good months out of your Stang. Now really get a good lawyer and sue this jerks butt. He deserves it and should be taken off the road. Good Luck it'll all work out.

Sounds to me like the cops did everything the law allowed them to do so I don't think it's the cops that stink. They don't write the laws. If the same thing happened here in my city I couldn't arrest him either. I could only write him a handful of tickets. Then if I get lucky he won't pay the tickets and they will go to warrants and then I can find him and arrest him. I know it stinks but, we can only do what the law allows us to do.
Bubba, sorry to hear about the accident and glad the wife is ok. Like others have said, she is more important. Good luck with the insurance and car situation.
