Surprising Comfort

Just went on the first road trip in the new car, and was surprised at just how comfortable the seats were. We were in the car for 13hrs. on the way up to Williamsburg, and got out with no aches or pains. In my old mustang a 6-8 hr. roadtrip was aggravating. Color me and the wife pleasantly surprised.

How do you folks feel about the seats?

Longest road trip I have been on was 18 hrs of driving. I had to get out a few times, but I don't have the best back in the world either. For the most part though, seat are pretty good.

They're not bad....before this mustang all of my longer trips had been in trucks because that's what I had and it was just different....but they're not too bad..

Drove my 05 cross country from San Diego to Baltimore recently, and she was quite comfy all the way.

Last year I drove the 05 from Ma to CA in 3 days, and never once had a complaint from my back. Only complaint was my sore neck from swivelling around to see all the beautiful scenery enroute !

I have an 06 and I don't mind drive it across the country. I get the typical, "sitting on my butt for a couple hours straight, in the same position and need to stretch" feeling. But my back and legs all feel fine.

Is your avatar a picture from that "customize your mustang" on the ford website?

I'm so glad to see this post! I just took my first road trip in my 06 and was amazed at how comfortable the ride was. I'd been avoiding it for years because I just assumed it would not be comfortable to drive a sportscar more than a few hours. Well let me say, Ford got more than the looks right on this baby. I had a 10 hour ride and after 4 hours I had to remind myself to stop and get a stretch!!! I was enjoying the raw open road power of my GT so much I didn't want to get out I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!

These are GREAT road trip cars. Just wish the bottom cushion had more padding for my scrawny butt.

Ditto, 18 hours is the longest stint I've pulled in the GT500, had to go pick my brother up in Columbus Ohio due to a family illness so it was 9 hours up and stopped just long enough to load his travel stuff them turned right around and drove back, and this was on top of having worked about 5 five hours already.

No but close. A 2000 v6 mustang.

Funny enough the seats don't look that much different.
