What do you do 10, 15, 20 years from now when the glass breakes or something. At least with a factory option there are 3rd parties that always step in. Heck I can still buy stuff for my 79! Try that with some after-market stuff. hey, I don't begrudge anyone wanting to do it just saying I wouldn't want to take the chance, at least with a car I was going to keep.

As always, your milage may very!
If you go to a reputable sunroof installer, then you shouldn't have any issues. I would suggest calling the local dealerships and finding out who they use for installing sunroofs in cars, or who they suggest. (Yes, the dealerships do add sunroofs to cars for customers before purchase, and they just outsource it to someone else).

As long as you don't go to some fly-by-night installer, you should be ok. Just do your research: call around to different dealers, ask people that you know have gotten aftermarket sunroofs installed, etc. It's pretty much no different than trying to find a reputable repair/body shop. With time, reputation will preceed the company.

Or a raise...or a better job.

T-tops would be awesome. I like the Targa top too. If I were to do something to the roof it would be one of those two.

Yeah, a targa top would be awesome!
A glassback targa top even better!

The roof is actually made of a space aged 20 layer lexan laminate. The roof is stronger now than it was with the sheet metal. It is literally bullet proof. For it to break I would have to total the car and then it wouldn't matter if the roof was broken.

Arrow,
Hate to be the one to break the news to ya, but yeah, it is. We're the ones that are still alive.
