So i got the lowjack put in my car thinking it would help lower my insurance even if just a bit. After it was put in i was talking to my insurance (geico) and they said they dont give discounts for recovery systems ony prvenative systems. Not only will they not give me a discount but it is probly going to cost me more cause they consider it an aftermarket upgrade they tack on there. What a waste of 750 i could have got some good srtuff for my car for all that. So learn from me cheak you ins first b4 you do anything like this. Dont listen to the marketing ploys of this crap. It turned out to be a pricy new fob on my keychain.

I don't think you have anything to complain about. No preventative alarm system has ever foiled a thief. LowJack recovery gets the vehicle back faster and in a better chance of being intact than an alarm that blares and everyone ignores. I have recovered many, many vehicles equiped with LowJack, often within minutes of the vehicle being reported stolen. They were not stripped nor damaged. Stolen vehicles have even been recovered from cargo shipping containers sitting at ports waiting to be shipped over seas. I do not sell LowJack, but my experience has proven the value of the cost and have taken advantage of a system that is proven to work. Quit your

It's money well spent ! For that price I bet you even got the Early Warning System installed, besides the regular Lojack, am I right ?

PS: nice dog in your sig, it looks like a French Bulldog, right ?

I've had Lojack in my last couple cars, and insisted upon it for my 'stang. I don't care about discounts, I care about a reasonable shot at getting my baby back if some lowlife rips her off...

A - I think the lowjack is a good investment anyway I'd feel much more secure about my Pony.

B - ....... well that's Geico for ya. I priced them for my insurance and they were $300 higher than anyone else - I'm with Progressive and as I listed the built in security features the GT has, I watched my insuarnce quote drop in $$$.... so there ya go..... (they have WAY too much money to spend on new commercials every 3 weeks when they should be helping you out...)

thieves can also do major damage to your car in less than 5 min.you would have to pay a deductible if it wasnt totaled and your car may never be the same again. since I do not live in a high crime area,I would put some performance mods on with the $ instead.JMO

Thumbs down

Morals of the story?

1. If you are purchasing LoJack for a decrease in your premiums, DO NOT purchase it.

2. DO NOT tell your insurance company (especially Geico) that you have LoJack!!

 You smoking something?

LoJack is an awesome addition to our cars. Screw the insurance...you now KNOW you can get your car back if your neighbor takes it for a drive.

From what I have heard from my Gieco rep is that they are working on a discount plan for the Lowjack system. That's what they tell me anyway..

Have you thought about switching insurance companies. If it's been a while since you shopped around it's worth looking into again. Companies are constantly changing their prices.

I wish Lojack would work here, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. In W. Europe cars get stolen all the time and shipped to Poland, Romania, and places like that and the owner has no chance of finding their car. They not only steal high dollar cars but beat up VW Golf's to strip for parts. There is a new thing going around for the last few years is car-napping. They steal your car then call you to ask if you want to buy it back, Usually for a few thousand Euros. They stole a co-worker of mines 2001 BMW and wanted 5000 Euro and he told them to keep it because he had insurance. (it's prolly pulling a wagon in Bulgaria or someplace) Some people pay and still don't get the car back. With a Lo-jack you could locate the car and go there with a few of your thug friends and beat the crap out of them and then call the cops.

When I get my new car it WILL have lojack. I like the comfort of knowing if they bypass the alarm I can still have a good chance of getting the car back intact.

I paid 1000 bucks for my LoJack. I would definately fo it again too. Just for the simple fact that I have a 24 hour guaranteed recovery of my vehicle.
