I just did a search on carmax for used Mustangs at 12,000 or less in my area (Chicago). They found 39 matches with the newest being 2002 model. Just find a 12,000 used Mustang and go man go.

Congrats on getting the loan Gary. And the interest rate isn't really that bad, considering what the prime is right now. Man, you pay this loan off in good standing, and not go crazy with credit cards, and your credit will be great. Then you'll get the best rate, and can get any car you want. Being that your approved for $12,000, I too would look for a used Mustang. There out there, you just have to go and find one thats nice. Good luck.

Gary, get the car with the best resale down the line. The wholesale price of my 4 cylinder cars have gone up in the past 6 months. After 13 months of payments trade in your high resale value car for what you want.
Remember BUY LOW, SELL HIGH.
If you buy a car at below or near trade in value and it is a car that holds value you will always be ahead.

Thank you! I hope I don't go crazy with the CC's on visual stuff for the Stang *runs* hehe

Well, the Mustang isn't all that great on the resale, but eh, we all love Mustangs right? This will get me started on the Pony bandwagon. hehe

It's probably just me, but I'd rather drive a keg of nails than a Toyota.

As someone in another thread advised me I should add that the preceding was my opinion and not actual fact. (Is perception reality?)
Don't worry I got a Stang I did buy it at the Toyota dealership though, ironically.

Cool I 'm glad you got a good deal on a Mustang. Now just keep your payments up and next time it will be a new one. One way I found that helps your Credit alot is to round up your Payment. If you pay 183.99 a month round it up to an even 200. It's not that much but it looks good to your Creditor.

That's exactly what I do on my car. Payments are $230 per month, I always write the check for $250. Will get paid off quicker too.

Congratulations on getting the Mustang, Knucklehead. Hope I didn't come on too strong with my anti-Japanese bias. Have a nanner!

Congrads on the stang
Always make the extra payment, have done that with my house, been here 12 years, started with a 30 yr loan, after 6 re fied to a 20 and currently will have it paid off in about 12 yrs. plan on the same with the new car. Also jacks up your credit score, and don' t...repeat DON'T miss a payment or be late.

I do that for convenience.
The finance guys don't pay any attention to it. They are just looking for the things that jump out. Did he have any lates? Did he pay it off? What was his limit? etc.
The extra couple of bucks doesn't mean squat. Sorry if I burst your bubble, but I've been on the other side of the desk.

Thanks everyone! I'm off work tomorrow so I'm going to go put some of my stuff back in it from what I had in the Honda, and maybe soon I can get some of my stereo stuff in it. I need to go buy the wire harness and mounting kit for the stang to mount the new radio. I might get someone to crimp the Mustang <--> Pioneer harnesses together and the rest will just be a breeze.

yeah my payment is $464 i am doing an autopayment of $600 a month on it.

not too bad considering that the car is payed off in three years from the begining, might save an extra 6 months now.
