I'll sure be glad when these parts come in, so I can get the strut popping TSB fixed. Anybody else experiencing this long of a wait for parts, or am I getting put on the back burner?

It took about 6 weeks for mine after I was told 2 weeks. I was in no rush, but it certainly seemed like a long time!

I talked to the service manager at the dealership and asked him about this. He said he had'nt heard of any problems in this area. He said I should bring the car and leave it with them so they could check it out. I told him I did'nt think I should have to leave my car with them in order to get them to order the parts for a problem that was so widely known about. He acted as though I insulted his intelligence when I mentioned the TSB. How can a Ford dealer's service dept. not know about this?

Can't remember the exact cut-off date, but later Mustangs were coming from the factory with the revised strut tower bearing and lower spring isolator. You can do a search under the TSB sticky, and it will give you a date of the cars that are affected, and it seems to me that it was in February sometime, and earlier models

Cars built before April 8, '05 are the one's that have the popping strut sound.........according to the TSB. So, my 'Stang @ Nov. '04 is in that group.....

Its the DEALERSHIP - the dealership I got my car at....inquired about the parts months ago (Saker and strut TSBs) - when they finally said they had them, we were set to go in - then they were missing one set of bolts or something for the strut kit .... just needed those and we could come in after they got those.... that was three weeks + ago......

We called the dealership couple 100 miles north in Orlando where my brother and his wife got theirs... supposed to be some award winning dealership.... they had our parts within three weeks and scheduled for an appointment to bring BOTH GTs in on the same day to have work done...... drving a gew 100 miles but it will be worth it.

Its all about the dealership and if they have the pull to get what they want from the parts group......

Ditto exactly for me too; plus what Burke0011 said --- waited for a while for the nuts to go on the bolts, then my dealer called me in when they had all the parts, only to discover that they were missing a sleeve. Took 6 weeks and 2 trips to the dealer (one the false start) to get the TSB service performed. But it has been fine since (done over a month ago).

Does anybody know if this is a safety issue? I have the same problem, but I haven't had time to bring my car in yet, because I have been so busy at work. I am hoping to talk to them in sept, when I have more time.

No it's not a safety issue. Just annoying.

The first dealership I went to took 3 weeks to get the parts! When I finally got it in to perform the TSB one of their IDIOT mechanics backed into my car! I grabbed the keys and left. (they paid to have another body shop fix it) Went to the local L-M dealer and had them order the parts. They had them within 2 days.

Yeah, I was pretty mad. There were times I was so mad I couldn't even speak... or yell. It's all fixed now. Needless to say I will never take my car to Bondy's Ford in Dothan, AL again. The dealership as a whole is terrible in my opinion. But that seems to be the general consensus around here.
