I was coming to a red light. I stopped. like 3 seconds later I feel this surge. I was like "NO, i got rearended"! I walked to the back of my car and no damage. The guy behind me was far back. I get back in my car and was confused. It felt just like I got rearended! I was fully stopped too..foot on the brake. It must of been a computer glitch or something. It scared the heck out of me. It was a huge surge too. I hope it doesn't happen again..Good thing no one was in front of me real close or I would of hit him.Anyone else experience this?

The only time I felt anything like that was at a stoplight in my Ranger (auto tranny), and when the A/C compressor turned off, the truck surged a bit from the decrease in engine load, even with my foot on the brake.

Not with my 05 but my 2000 did it ALLL the darn time and some other people I know w/ olders have complained of the same problem. I learned soon after getting my 00 to stay at least a car length when stopped. OH and I took it to the dealer several times and they were always like we hear this alot but dunno of what it is or a fix.

I assume you have an automatic transmission? and the car lurched forward?
Make sure your floor mat is not on top of your gas pedal!!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like your foot was on the brake and gas pedal at the same time.

my foot was not on the gas pedal. I'm sure of it. And yes I do have an automatic. I did check my mirrors. I saw a car behind me but I couldn't tell if he was that close. he was close but he didn't rear end me close. So i had to get out of my car and check and make sure he didn't hit me and back up a little.
