Anyone waiting longer than me? This is total crap! Why cant ford get the cars to the people who ordered first? To me it is total BS that someone ordering in Jan, DEC and even Feb have their cars already.

I'm gonna have to agree with you there. They definately need to revise their order processing. I ordered Dec 6 and finally got pulled last week.

My husband works at the dealership we ordered from, he's a mechanic. It seemed like once we started asking alot things started moving. I'd check with your salesman to see what your priority code (the dealer sets the priority code) is and how many allocations they have, etc. This may get things rolling for you. As the saying goes the squeeky wheel gets the grease. Orders get pulled on Thursday night and the salesman can check on Friday to see if you got pulled. I know about the number to call, however if you are calling the number yourself (which I have been doing too) the salesman doesn't know you are inquiring.

Mine had a priority code of 11, which our salesman said is the highest a dealer can assign. The order above mine was for one of the salesman's nephew, he ordered it in October and it got pulled the week before me. There's a thread with a link in it that goes over the order processing/allocation/priority meanings very well. I'll try to find it for you, so when you call your salesman he'll know you know what you are talking about. If you salesman is not helping to your satisfaction ask to see the sales manager. Good luck!!

So far I haven't seen anyone with a longer wait time that mine. Ordered a GT vert with IUP, 5 speed on Sept. 22, 2004. According to dealer it will be May before it hits production.

So what do I win? A bump up the production food chain???

I ordered a black GT 5 speed with the red leather IUP on Oct. 16th and I keep getting, from the dealer, "It is delayed because Ford didn't order enough parts for the IUP." I called last week and was told that Ford wasn't building any Mustangs in Feb. With that I may see the car in late April or May, if there are no more delays.
First car I ever special ordered and I'm pondering if it is worth the wait. In my eyes Ford FUBARed this project, they built a beauty of a car but can't get it to Joe Public in a reasonable time.

Your dealer really said Ford wasn't building any Mustangs in Feb?? What a crock!! I think you should get in contact with the regional rep or Ford Customer service and really start complaining. Not only have you waited since Oct., but now they're lying to you.

The deal with the Ford VP of Marketing: I was called early in the day yesterday to verify my order: who i was, what i ordered, who i ordered it from, the date, the order number. The guy didn't say anything about the rumours about bogus retail orders from some dealerships, but I am strongly guessing that is what it is about. He called later and said my car would be built in late April or early may. i ordered a black premium with IUP, airbags, 5-speed, dark charcoal and wheel locks on December 16th, 2004.
