Still At the Plant.
My white GT was made early in production and we went through the usual routine of having a projected arrival date (which was week of 10/11). The week came and went with no car. Now, we've been told there was an exhaust problem on some GT cars and they are being held and won't be shipped until the problem is corrected. It almost makes me feel bad to have ordered so early. The same thing happened concerning shipment on the new Thunderbirds. My Mustang info came from a district rep who has always been good at getting to the source and getting some real info. The point of all this, and I don't mean a rumor,....has anyone else been told this info about their car from a confirmed Ford source?
They delivered a Black V6 to my local dealership today in SC. When my car came in they were expecting a GT at the same time but it did not arrive. Good Luck BeachFord, I know the wait is killing you.
Beachford My redfire GT was in a modification hold @ AAI until 10/15 (vin#103675). As of 10/19 it was on a railcar and listed as in transit. Salesman told me it should be in late week. Sure hope he's right.....
Mine was built the week of 9/20; car has been shipped; dealer told me yesterday he received the invoice and window sticker late last week; should be delivered by end of this week; my VIN (103674) is one number removed from SLICK05GT's VIN
My was produced 9/8/04 (vin 100669)-been show "ship to convey" for all of October. My dealers 1st three ordered mustangs where for customers, the next two for stock. I was first, followed by 2 black GT's, then a windvil gt and yellow v6. On Monday (10/18) My dealer got the 2 black gt's and the yellow v6 in. the black ones were made within one day of each other (vin 106462 and 106601). I going to see my dealer tomorrow and politely ask for some kind of vehicle search on my car- like beachford, I'm feeling penalized for ordering early.
Hey, I know this is no consellation, but they are worth the wait. I ordered on June 2 and I took possession yesterday VIN ending 1663. When I woke up yesterday morning I felt the same way you do now but by the end of the day everything was great. Hopefully yours will come tomorrow. Good Luck!
I talked with my dealer yesterday – Town Ford – WNY, and was told expect the 2005 GT in two weeks.
The VIN ends in 100811, and was supposedly built on 8 Sept.
I was also told that there was an exhaust problem.
The car has been in ‘Shipped to Convoy’ status the entire month of October as well.
Nice.

The delay is so hard to deal with. Especially knowing that if something really goes wrong, that it will be months before another can be reordered and delivered. Mine was ordered on 5/18, and built on 9/8. The dealer tells me to wait another week.
Pony Express; my VIN is 102104, so our cars were rather close. At this point, I'm getting very discouraged over the wait. It would appear common sense would dictate, that if there was a problem, Ford would go on expedite a fix, but apparently it is not a priority. They are delivering cars built much later while early builds sit in a parking lot. I've bought so many Ford cars over the years, but now I'm almost to the point of cancelling my order.
beachford
It sounds like our cars will be in soon. I would assume that Ford would work on a first built first out strategy. If there are legitimate internal recalls fine. But if they parked our cars in the weeds & can't get to them that would be very foolish.

Beachford & Pony Express--
I agree with you both! Ready to order a different car that's not on hold (why order early?) and if Ford pushed them to the back (LIFO--last in, first out) that is pure stupidity on their part.
I ordered my car 5/22, built week of 9/13, shipped convey with status code 5P, and ETA to dealer 10/6---where the status has remained for 2 weeks! My dealer in Chattanooga got a white GT last Friday Oct 15th with a high VIN# in upper 4000's series 49xx, and yet mine with VIN 1655 can't be found, located or explained why it is late. My dealer says any day, the Ford customer service people say it was put on a "haulaway car carrier" on 10/6 yet it has miraculously disappeared or more likely is stalled in their system.
What a lousy job by Ford. Even a 2yr old can keep better track of their things than Ford has in tracking their cars. Maybe they consider it the dealer's problem once the car is allocated to the dealer on paper, but the dealer can't even print an invoice or window sticker, which they have been able to do on two GT cars that were "stock" and not pre-sold. Their 2nd car is NOT in yet, has a vin#2979.
If Ford knew they had a problem, why don't all dealers know about it? I have heard every excuse but the real reason why it is delayed. This is my first brand new car & has already been disappointing. I don't think that feeling will go away for a long time..... :stubborn:
