Steering wheel cover - what are you using?

I find that the stock steering wheel is too slippery (albeit much better than the one in my Crown Vic which is basically bare smooth plastic). I don't have the leather wrapped GT wheel, it's just textured black vinyl/plastic. Most of the standard covers from Wal-Mart don't seem to fit properly.

I have the leather wrapped factory wheel but I always put a cover on all my steering wheels to protect them. I picked up a black leather cover at walmart and I have been happy with it. It has rubber on the inside to keep it from moving around.

I've got the leather wrapped steering wheel from the factory and have no problems. I think steering wheel covers look tacky. Talk to Kevin at Clevparts to see about getting an IUP steering wheel.

I would use a Wheelskins brand, I use one on my Accord actually. You get quality leather in any color you like, you have to stitch it in place but it's real easy. http://www.wheelskins.com/index.php

How hard is the stitching? Where do you tuck the knot? Where's the cheapest place to get one?

I use a FORD RACING one - I originally used it in my black 05 when I first started running a few 1/4 mile track events

[Florida = WAY hot and you can't HELP but sweat - I didn't want to sweat on the factory leather wheel so bought one of these and just got used to it on there...]

Hey by the way - I see you were tuned by Justin/VMP.....

I am in south florida but have been considering having VMP do a custom tune for my GT (with the Saleen series VI blower)......

Shoot me a PM with your experience with him if you could - thanks!

I use a leather Florida Gator cover and I love it. Its got great grip and I love the way it looks too. Steering wheels are way to thin for me. I got used to using a cover with my Camry and I don't think I could go back to a regular steering wheel again.

I was wonder if that is possible because I have non-IUP and the GT 500 steering wheel would really set it off.

I love my non-IUP. I'm going to buy a "Action Grip" ribbed faux-leather wheel cover from Wal-Mart. I was NOT impressed by the IUP leather-wrapped wheel. It felt a bit soft/mushy.
