Steering play
Steering play
Did a quick search on the matter, if it already exists just send a link.
I got a small steering play in my wheel when I turn maybe 10-15 degrees the wheels don't turn. Is this a common problem with the stang? What would be the first part to look at, steering shaft?

That really doesn't sound normal. These are tight and quick steering racks on these cars. If you've got that much play, it sounds like you've got a problem somewhere, and *all* of it is suspect.
I'd be thinkin' your rack is the problem, but it could be the steering shaft. Heck, could be the steering wheel itself, although I really really doubt that. There's an outside chance is a tie rod end, but it doesn't sound like it. In any event, you'll want to have someone turn the wheel while you inspect things, and probably from underneath, having put the car on jack stands and chock the back wheels.

yeah 10-15 degrees is a lot . . . how many miles are on the car?
my first thought was badly worn tie rod end(s) but could be the rack itself . . . let's hope it's the tie rod end(s) because they are a lot cheaper and easier to replace
