Which of these uses a single piece T-304 exhaust tip similar to the standard GT axle back tip? From photographs, it seems the Steeda is the only one that has this type of tip while the Stinger/5GT uses rolled tips?

How do the Steeda Axle Backs sound compared to the Stingers/5GT?

 

I have the Steeda and really like the sound , but I don't know how they compare to the Stingers ...

 

Someone else posted that Magnaflow manufactures the exhaust for Steeda, which leads me to believe they are the Magnapacks. Have you compared your Steedas to the Magnapacks?

 

Steeda and Stingers are the same.

 

I have the FRPP 5Gt and they sound outstanding. I could not be happier, thanks to TacoBill and his help and recommendation!

I also don't even hear any drone, which may be the exhaust getting broken in or me getting used to them lol Regardless the 5GT would be my only choice, period!

And to be honest everyone who hears them only say "WOW" they sound fantastic.

 

The Steedas aren't even made by Borla according to Borla.

 

Not 100% sure but I'd have to agree with this. I have the FRPP Stingers and my friend has the Steeda Axle backs with the only visual difference being I have rolled tips.

Elsewhere we both have stock headers, Magnaflow Hi-Flow catted X and stock over axle pipes. Between the two cars the exhaust sound identical.

 

I noticed that some other mufflers look similar in design (Bassani Race, SLP PowerFlo), etc... and I'm wondering if they all sound the same. I'm trying to find the least expensive version in T-304. $400-$500+ for axle-backs is rather ridiculous.

 

Metroplex is correct ! The Steeda's are not the same, as the Borla/FRPP Stingers..I personally checked with Steeda, Borla, and Magnaflow's tech support departments, in which both Steeda, and Magnaflow confirmed the Steeda axle backs, and Magnapacks, are manufactured by Magnaflow !

 

That could very well true...NOW. They used to be Borla's back in '05 when I was shopping them, hence the cornfusion.
