My brakes on my 05 GT are starting to squeek a little.

I have roughly 2000 miles on my 05 GT.

It started happening recently.

It's not real loud.

Should I be concerned?

Well, the brakes on my brand new V6 squeak, and have since I got her (which was about 4 days ago). I thought maybe it was because they were new or something. Hope it isn't a problem. I know she has stopping power though, because some jackalope slammed on brakes in front of me last night. The road was wet, and I thought sure I was going to rear end someone in my brand new car, but se stopped in the nick of time. I've also noticed on other occaisions that she seems to stop faster than my 02 V6.

Same thing here - with mine and my brother's car - both have about 1600 miles on them..... only started recently.

It could be the discs aren't seated well with the caliper. You can buy a spray to apply to the backs of the discs from pep boys. Everytime I did a brake job, I'd put some on.

Do they squeak all the time? or just when you first use the car in the morning or after sitting for several hours... Do you garage your car, or does it live outside? also, what is your weather like?... It could simply be "morning sickness" .. This is a squeak that normally goes away soon after the brakes are applied for the first time in the day thus scraping off the night's oxidization.. it's more common these days since the rotor material tends to be softer than in days gone bye.. This is because asbestose <sp?> is no longer used in the manufacture of pad materials....

My brakes started to squeek after 2,000 miles. They only squeek when applying the brakes. Just another thing to add to the list when I bring it to the dealer in a few weeks

Actually mine only squeek when they get warm...after driving the car for a bit. Only when applied.

Mine squeeked for the first 1,700 miles, and now they seem to be fine (fingers crossed). They squeeked intermittently no matter what time of day, weather conditions, etc.
