Spots on door panel???

Every once in awhile, I get these darker colored spots that show up inside my Stang. The vast majority of them are on the lower section of the drivers side door. If I rub my finger against them with just a tiny bit of force, they disappear, but I cannot figure out what they are or what causes them for the life of me. Has anyone else every seen anything like this? I seem to notice them mostly right after I was the car, but I don't spray the drivers side any differently than the passenger side and it doesn't happen on the passenger side. FYI....my Stang is not driven in the winter, in case that matters. I took this pic once when it was most noticeable.

Yeah, I'm completely baffled. Luckily, it's still under warranty, so I can bring it in this spring and have them take a look at it, but I literally have no idea what would cause this.

spots

This may have been caused by the cleaning product you are using , , , , I would recommended a little isopropyl alcohol . . . . . . .. test it one "one" of the spots . . .. .. . .

I'll give it a shot next spring if it shows up again, the odd thing is I don't use any products on the inside of the vehicle and if I rub one of the spots with my finger, it goes away.....and doesn't seem to show up again until I wash the car.

Are you thinking that the outside product (Meguiars Shampoo) could actually impact the inside?

That looks similiar to what happened to me the first time I used Black Magic Tire Wet spray. I had just finished cleaning the car and was detailing the tires using that stuff. I sprayed the applicator pad but the breeze carried the fine spray all over the car. After i was done there were these oily spots all over! Needless to say I had to rewash.

So like lsanch33 I'm guessing it's a cleaning/detailing product you're using. Good luck & let us know if you figure out what it really is.

That looks like some type of oil based residue. It really looks like remnants of tire dressing.

looks like overspray from when you wipe down your seats. it happens to me when i spray the leather seats.
i have to wipe everything down again. only suggestion is to watch where you are spraying and how much.

What do you use to clean your seats, dash, etc? I bet it's just one of those. I prefer to spray the product on a microfiber and than wipe to avoid issues like this.

I agree, they look like little spots of oil. Are you using anything to condition the leather seats?

Tire dressing might be an option, as I do spray on some Meguair's tire black when I clean the car, but not sure why it only tends to show up on the driver's side. Would the tire dressing be able to get inside the car with the door closed, or only if I'm spraying with the door open?

As for interior products, the only product I use is Invisible Glass on the windows. I don't use anything on the dash or seats. Next time I wash the car, I'll have to pay extra close attention to how I spray the Invisible Glass. I'm wondering if I do the entire windshield while spraying from the drivers side and potentially do my drivers side window while seated in the drivers seat, whereas I would do the passenger side window while standing on that side of the car.

Oh, and I know it's not any type of food or drink, because I don't let anyone bring anything to eat or drink into my car.
