Ok,
I'm just bringing this up for the sake of discussion - who knows if its really true. I just need something to pass the time waiting for my order to serialize.

I got the latest update on my order from Teri at Mossy Ford Thursday - she said that all of her first batch of orders got serialized within the last three weeks except for her tungsten greys and vista blues, the new colors for '06.

Checking here, it doesn't seem that the color is the issue as some with Tungsten and Vista Blue have been pulled. But what I have noticed is those of us with spoiler deletes, regardless of color or date placed, have not been pulled. Anyone out there with spoiler delete get pulled yet? Put my theory to the test...

Didn't this happen last year? Something about Ford either running out of spoilers or spoilerless decklids? Jeez, having your car held up for a $100 spoiler...

When I ordered my car (see signature for details) I already knew of issues with IUP and Spoiler shortages. I remember coming here every day and reading about people that were getting their cars scheduled for build that ordered either the same day I did, and days and weeks AFTER I ordered.
The people that didn't order IUP or went with the Spoiler Delete option were getting their orders built while I was stuck in 'Temporary Delay in Production'.
I have to admit that I was considering changing to Spoiler Delete to try and get my car faster, but the dealer told me that once you have a VIN you can't make changes to the order, and once I got the car I was happy I didn't change the order as I like the look of the stock Spoiler.
My order remained in the 'Temp Delay' status from at least early November until it was finally scheduled for build in December.

My 06 convertible is a Vista Blue with spoiler delete. I ordered very early in June, the dealers first 06 order, and it has not been pulled yet.

My wife's GT vert is Vista Blue, no spoiler, and it got scheduled two weeks ago to be built on a 8/15. The were others on the list already scheduled as well. Did the dealer give you this info?

Mike, you consider that waiting? Looks like it only took 2 months to get your car. That's the usual for a normal car and the exception for a Mustang. Consider yourself lucky.

They're probably just waiting to get a lot of them together to do all at once. Hopefully the guy that works at AAI will chime in.

The main reason for my post was not the short wait time from order to delivery (yes, I was lucky to get the car in a short amount of time as compared to others here), it was to show how Ford schedules builds based on the supplies each order needs.
My car was delayed because of IUP issues and a limited supply of spoilers.
It appears that people that ordered 06 models are being delayed because of Tungston Grey and Vista Blue (probably those colors are being delayed since Silver and Sonic Blue will be used until early August when 06 Job 1 starts).

I just found out the other day that my order is pulled and to be built this week!!! The car is Tungsten Gray with the spoiler delete option and every other goodie minus the Shaker 1000. So for those with similar orders, don't worry too much about the rumor for cars with spoiler delete not getting pulled.

I have the same car coming, with the same build date. I actually hope mine gets built on Tuesday or Wednesday- I don't want a "Monday car".
