Speculation: '05 Mustang and new Dodge Charger
#1
Hi, all . . .
Apologies in advance for the rather off-topic post, but I thought you'd get a kick out of it.
I was combing the web tonight and came across a pic of the Ford 427 concept and it occurred to me the new Chrysler 300C bears a striking resemblance, from it's high belt line to the low roofline to the angle of the backend. I then remembered an Audi concept from a few years ago that the new Dodge Magnum reminded me of . . . what do y'all think?
Ford 427:
Chrysler 300C:
Audi Avantissimo:
Dodge Magnum:
So, I'm curious if maybe we already know what the new Charger will look like . . . maybe this?
LOL

It probably will turn out that Charger won't be a direct Mustang competitor. It'll be a four door, for one, and more along the lines of a GTO, especially in pricing. But if it's done right, there may be competition for the V6s. The V8s will simply be too high priced compared to Mustang GT. But ah, that HEMI mystique... That may push those on the fence.
Now, what *could* be coming is the Challenger. DC was (allegedly) very upset about the leak about Charger. They were going to try to surprise everyone at the next Detroit show with it (IIRC), but someone screwed up. Not that speculation didn't abound, but it was recently thought Charger was a dead dead horse, and people were STILL beating upon the poor thing. They were right after all, turns out, but not in the way they were hoping, which was two doors.
Rumors are abounding now that after Charger shows up, Challenger will be right behind, a smaller than Charger two door, and THAT would be the Mustang's competition. This time DC's trying to keep the two door project under wraps, and of course, the names may change. Heard that Super Bee name has been reestablished in Canada by DC for some reason.
Of course, this *is* the internet we're talking about. YRMV.

I think that dodge is over using the "hemi" brand. They seem to be just putting it into everything. So I think that the allure of the HEMI will lose it luster in time. :notnice:
however I do like the 99 concept over the latest one as seen on the popular hot roddig web site.

That concept was ugly. There was a drawing I saw of an orange charger side and front profile view that looked really good. It was basically a 300c with new front fascia and headlights.

If The Charger looks similiar to the '99 Concept , I'll consider it.
4.7-liter V-8 engine
325 horsepower
3,000 pounds

You stink. Dodge is number 2 behind Ford. The Magnum is the hottest car on the road right now.

I think the Magnum is kinda cool... for a station wagon. But is it in NO WAY the hottest car on the road right now.
I kinda agree that Dodge stinks right now. The Ram looks nice, but my uncle has the top of the line edition (HEMI, leather, Infiniti sound system, etc.) and the interior is very subpar compared to the new F-150. The Neon is way overdue for a better makeover. The Intrepid I believe hasn't been in the top 25 vehicle sales for a few years now. And the kicker is that the company is using a station wagon for its "cool factor."

They are the same arent they, only one is more cheaply done?
I love the look of the orange one alot, except torward the end where it begins losing its form a bit.

To me it looks part like the design concept. Part like a General Lee update.
