Special Editions: Ford vows not to disappoint
From Automotive News:
Ford has pumped out a succession of low-volume, tricked-out Mustangs since redesigning the pony car for the 2005 model year. Ford execs say they have never had as many special-edition Mustangs in the stable as they do now.
Despite all those special-edition choices, Mustang fans are clamoring for more, Ford says.
"They want Mach 1, they want Boss," says Mustang chief designer Doug Gaffka.
So stay tuned: Ford vows not to disappoint. The company could announce another Mustang one-off any day now.

IMO something like a tweaked version of the 5.4L 3-valve would be more likely. And since that motor is about to get a bump to ~330hp and ~380lb-ft tq I would guess that a SE Mustang using a slightly pumped version of the same could be expected to provide similar torque numbers and 10-15 more hp. If this does come to pass that 'lesser' rating of 345hp or so will be more than livable, particularly if the 5.4L is backed by a 6-speed, since the very nice torque curve effectively assures a consistent, high 12 second car.

Part of me can't wait to see these new cars, part of me also hopes Ford won't blow out all of their options before the Camaro, Challenger and a couple of the cool Japanese cars are released. Part of me also wishes that Ford will come up with an entirely new package for our retro-stangs sort of as a tie-in to the future (sort of what the S197 is, a blend of past present and future). Part of me thinks they should cool it for a while so we can digest and enjoy all the different things we already have...
I guess I have a lot of parts. lol

Unlike the 09 Glass Roof SE. Which will be done after production, but on site, is a Sallen adaption. Look for any "near" future SE's to be just Badging with Miniumal Styling ques, ie decals. Doubtful there will be any performance modifications applied, outside of what is already out there. Just packaged differently. Remember, performance vehicles are merely a rolling billboard for the manufacturer's, in order to get people into showrooms, and buy, buy anything, just buy. In saying this, I would not expect much greed on these "new" SE's. JMHO
