Sorry but i just thought some here would like to know specially in Florida. I do in fact have a stang on order but tonight on Ford direct i seen a stang that had everything i wanted except for the 1000 watt shaker so i figured i would go and purchase this car and just add a better system later. At any rate the dealer ship is SunCoast Ford in Port Richey Fl. about an hour drive for me and my wife so i did the smart thing and called ahead of time to see if they had it they said yes and they would sell it to me tonight. So (very excited) me and my wife drove all the way there and there she was a Black GT in the detail shop. We started telling them why we were there how we have a car on order they said WHY are you here then. I told them the obvious why wait when i can get allmost everything i want now. So all is going good the salesman is talking NICELY then i bring up the fact we have an X plan. Its allmost like i cursed his mom. He then tells me why should we sell you this car for X plan when we can get 2,000 over MSRP tomorrow :nono: I said so what your saying is the car was for sale until i mentioned the X plan. He walks off. So now me and my wife go inside and i ask to talk to the Sales manager and told him how we were treated. they start telling me that you wont get a X plan for like 6 to 8 months i said we allready did i have a car on order for X plan his reply thats why you dont have it yet.So then they start telling me that they got the car from some auction and they paid 2000 more over so they have to get there money back. I am 28 my wife 27 i said do we just not look like we can afford this car or what. done they were just done they told us to go to Brandon Ford maybe they will have something. I told him that i researched Ford direct and YOU guys have the car i am looking for not them. HE just walks off. sorry for the long rant but just couldnt take it SO close to having everything i wanted but yet so Far. :bang:

Unfortunately, what they told you is most likely true... except for the we just bought it at an auction line... sure... I'm in Cape Coral and can't find what I want either. Ordering soon.

they kept on telling me that X plan is a dealer option i told them i understand that but i still think its ashame that they would not honor it when we were in there about 3 months ago thinking on placing a order then, but me and my wife wanted to see more of the exterior colors before making the decision. Told them then that it would be under X plan they said "NO PROBLEM"

they also told me the because i ordered under the X plan thats why i wont get my car for a LONG time. Its funny because the dealership that i did place my order through 3 weeks ago i kept calling and asking for anything like my DORA etc. finally today they tell me that i wont get my DORA till the temp hold on my GT is lifted probably in January. So when i found this other stang on forddirect suddenly they are like we had your Dora and misplaced it we can make you a copy....WTF

I think he is right in not wanting to sale to a x-plan. It's there car they order and can charge what ever they want. Granted he was rude in walking away. I ordered my car at the dealer hold back price. Than two days the same exact car came in. I mean exact car and at the same dealer. I ask if I can take that one instead. One told me flat out no. There markup on a GT optioned was $4995. I understand his thinking so I'll wait the long 3 more weeks. Ne sweat. I'm not going to take a 7000 grand hit for 3 weeks early. plus I will still be the first in my city. BTW he told me that somebody was driving down the next day and made a verbal commitment to pay asking price.

My dealer told me that the xplan was not available on the '05 mustangs. I was like, says who? And he said it would be a 6 month wait if you want to order off the xplan or you can just pay the $500 over invoice and order today and you should have it in 6-8 weeks. SO I said screw it, flush 400 bucks down the toliet and now here I am, sitting, waiting, and hoping my order doesn't get delayed like all of these people on this site are telling me their's have been. I am still waiting for a freaking order number!!! :bang:

you know i understand these cars are going to sell no matter what but hey if someone wants to pay 2,000 over MSRP be my guest. The way I felt in there in that lobby was totaly belittled like either we are too young NO WAY can you guys afford this car. There was no lets talk and see what we CAN do for you ...no ...they steer me and my wife another 50 miles to tampa to Brandon Ford and tell me maybe youll find somthing there.

i am with you man me and my wife were going to wait a little longer to even place our order but with all the fears of the IUP holds etc. we wanted to jump in to not miss anything. But i tell ya what if a dealer has a car and if its only like one or two of them they treat them like gold. and they expect you to pay for it. like i said if they went X plan i would have that car right now...we were going to pay cash tonight ....

it's a shame that all of us can't get our x-plan or IUP... the only person who really got the Mustang they wanted was good ole Billy Ford.

I used to go to the worlds largest auction at Manhiem PA. Every new model out, PT cruiser, Beetle and now the Mustang is there with in a week of release. And with this car as all the hot new models sell's at auction for MSRP. These dealers then put them on there lot and get over MSRP or else they could not make money. Its done with every new model thats hot. It allows them to have one until they get more. And if they don't sell it over MSRP they at least have it in the showroom and place many orders as a result. Later on they may then sell at MSRP or less with there cost absorbed in the other sales they made as a result.

Well, its good to here that I'm not the only one....same situation, ordered 8/21 and two weeks ago the dealership got the exact one I ordered(minus shaker 1000). I test drove it and forgot about the stereo real quick...long story short I got back to the dealership w/a s*@t-eating grin on my face and I didn't even have to ask...the new car mgr said unless I was willing to pay MSRP and give up x-plan there was no way he would sell me the car. He said dealerships were only accepting x-plan on orders and that any car he actually was allocated for stock was going to be sticker and nothing less. With the demand for the car and all the delivery issues it is understandable but at the same time its making the wait even harder!!!

Let me know if any of the dealers in that area will take an order at $500 over invoice. No one in SW FL will come off of sticker yet. Good Luck on yours. I'm 27 and my wife 25, we do pretty well, but I'm 5'5" and look young. Tthe dealer's must think I'm 18 because they won't even take me seriously when I try to talk a little negotiation. Like you said, if I had the cash to flash, then maybe that's the ticket... Apparantly a good down payment and a paid off trade isn't good enough anymore.

I did the same thing you did, only I ended up settling for a car quite a bit from my ordered car. I did have to look for several dealers until I found one "willing" to accept the X plan, and having a car "close" to my order.

I did end up driving to Alabama for it. That cost me a few extra dollars in taxes (found that out just yesterday, but I enjoy having one of the first of it's breed in my city. I had several turn me down for the X plan, but there ARE dealers who will accept it. Broaden your search and ability to travel.

I will say this about the dealership i bought from, they were upfront, no hassles, and they knew I was coming. Had my name posted on their "guest" sign for the day. I like that. Small things matter to me. I will probably purchase a Five Hundred soon, and plan to make the journey into "Bear" country again.

Good Luck
Jim

I live in Michigan and both dealers I worked with said they would take x-plan. Actually the first dealer actually asked me did I have x-plan and I said I know the guy that referred me to you (the guy usually comes to my job and buys stuff and we talk about mustangs) so he said well we'll put you on x-plan cause I don't see why not we're gonna sell these cars like crazy anyway. The next dealer said we can get it faster cause we sell more cars and we'll give you the x-plan price to so I said weeeeee....ok lets do it, then he told me about the IUP, DUN DUN DUUUNNN.

good luck man like i said we look really young too and its happend before me and my wife bought an Xterra but before we did at a nissan dealer in Ocala they actually tried to walk us over to the used car area and told us this would be more your style... as far as the 500 over invoice i thinkg its going to be hard everyone and there uncle are going to ask an arm and maybe a leg over invoice till ford builds up stock this is where we are at unfortunately

Really dislike what I'm reading here. A lot of crap going on just remember to never give those dealers any future business. for us one was an hiney and the other sold us a dropped sale X-plan. Who do you think will receive my future busniess and that of family and friends. Keep looking and do not give in.

What are you looking for? Can possibly find it here for A or X-plan and drive it or ship home. Have a few dealers that just want to sell cars no BS. The economy is not that hot here.
