What engine would they use in a Mach or Cobra? They don't have one that would work I don't think. It will probably be purely appearance.

The Navigator gets a 5.4L - 3V engine for 2005. I wonder if it has an aluminum block? If so with a different intake manifold and some tweaks there's a Mustang engine.
Reportedly the 4.6 can be bored to 92mm and meet Ford's reliability requirements, that would bump the 4.6L up to 4.8L.
The same thing could be done to the 5.4L which would bump it up to 5.6L.
Ford is also reportedly been working on a S/C 4.6 that uses a twin screw S/C on an all aluminum 3V, 4.6L.
I doubt the Nav engine would fit. Everything says there is barely enough room for the current engine. I guess they could do the 4.6 > 4.8 conversion, but I would think they would do that from the beginning.
The SC 4.6 would probably be more than just rumors at this point if they were using it in March.
And again, they wouldn't release something that would upset the early buyers.

Hopefully Chris Theodore isn't building us up for disappointment.
Now, if it is true, i'd expect two (maybe three) main options:
1) 5.4L 3-valve (a while back a Ford Tech student said that on a tour the guide said that the 5.4 was being tested in the stang and that it would debut in about 6 months of the launch)
2) 4.6L 3-valve with higher compression and other engine tweaks (it has been said that this engine can "easily" hit 300hp and is capable of quite a bit more N/A)
3) 4.6L 3-valve S/C
The 5.4L sounds very appealing.........but heck, I'd take anything.

That's really gooooood news....hopefully it will be a Mach1. A shaker hood would look awasome....Can"t wait.

I'd really prefer the BOSS, even if it's just the 302 since Ford has (you should know by now of course) dropped any hope of a big block return. I'd like them all to make a return however: The BOSS, Mach 1, and Shelby, but I doubt a Shelby since the final project he planned to do with Ford actually turned out to be the Shelby Cobra. As I've said before, don't get your hopes up too high because Ford will most likely disappoint (god forbid).
isnt SEMA where ford first unveiled the bullitt???? i dont think its going to have a different engine yet. they may tweak it like for the bullitt. and will have different wheels and suspension and maybe the ducktail or something like that

I stand corrected... close enough..
from what I have seen, this is the coolest show ever... I don't believe it is open to the general public
