Somebody has installed vinyll stripes?

I am putting black vynil stripes on my screeming yellow. After installation I get some small bubbles and wrinkles. The vendor of the stripes says they will go away if I leave them in hot sun for two weeks.

Somebody has done installation before? Does it really go away? I just can't wait 2 weeks to see how it goes, especially its raining outside now. Thanks!

Not a professional installer by ANY means but after mine went on there were absolutly NO wrinkles. The bubbles are easy to fix but IMHO your installer should have removed them for you. To remove them you can take a pin and poke a small hole in them then flaten them out you can use a hair dryer to help or just do this on a hot day. To fully answer this no the bubbles will not go away with time and to the best of my knowledge neither will the wrinkles. I would go back their and

Now if John(adrenalin) would chime in here he would know for sure.

actualy I did the installation myself, and the stripes vendor, where I bought the stripes, tells me not to worry about the small bubbles and use needle only if after two weeks they don't go away. I just can't get the good hot sun yet up here to put the car outside to see if it helps.

Sorry for the error in my reading skills
Like you said the air bubbles are one thing but I am not sure about the wrinkles I would really ask Adrenalin about that. Hes a mod here, and has helped me with my vinyl questions

Nice car by the way

Thanks Tom. I will send him a message. How did you shorten your antenna to 14". Did you cut it? Is the reception good now?

I have been told by a couple pro installers that decals will start to 'lay down' after a week or two in the sun.

So I guess there's some truth to it.

But, keep in mind, the sun is no miracle worker. If you have large creases and good sized bubbles, no amount of sun will fix it, that I'm sure of.

Actually the bubbles, just a few, are small, maybe 2-3mm in diameter and wrinkles in some areas are noticeable in certain angle only. May be I am just being very picky. I guess my question is how perfect of the stripe surface should be, almost like clearcoat?

stripes

Yeah, like it's been said, the small bubbles will work themselves out in the sun within a couple of weeks. However, any large bubbles and especially wrinkles are a problem. I've been in the business for over 16 years and can tell you that you will not get rid of the wrinkles, but the large bubbles can be worked out by sticking a pin through one side of the bubble and working the trapped air from the other side towards the pinhole to remove it.
