some pics of my black beauty
Attachment 28940
spent some time polishing (by hand mind you) and thought after i finished one side id take a pic. i was going to continue but it was getting late and i was killing datelight quick. the next few days it was 90+ here in SINY so tomorrow ill probably finish her off. cant wait to hit some local meets (one on sunday mornings in gateway for all you staten island guys. starts around 10am, just keep driving back ull see it.)
lemme know what you think. gonna have to order some supplies from Zaino. Turtle wax products have worked for me so far but from everyone has shown me with their rides, zaino seems to be the way to go.

From another black stang owner. The Porter Cable 7424 i bought last year saves a ton of time and with the right combo of pads/ compounds/ polishes, will get rid of swirls and small scratches. I stopped using the auto parts cheap stuff a while ago and buy all of my stuff from Auto Geek now.I think right now there is acutally a 15% special for the Fourth of July. Here are some pics from a few details.

What products are you using with the PC? What are you trying to accomplsh (Swirl removal, polishing, final sealant?) Without knowing that, the biggest tip is don't use too much product otherwise it will cake the pad and become ineffective. It also helps to spray a little quick detailer on the pad to moisten it up and prevent dusting before starting.

How Byzantine. I too use a PC 7424 and will never do a car any other way. Use the two bucket wash method w/ a car shampoo, quality microfiber etc. and swirls should be a non issue (no need for polish on quality paint.)
Zaino imho is way too laborious in the steps necessary to achieve the final result (don't want to start wax wars here.) A quality polymer sealant is all that's required - I use Blackfire Wet Diamond and sometimes layer S100 when I want that "pop". This time tested method works for me on all my black vehicles - motorcycle, truck and both Mustangs.
