My local Ford dealer here in Roselle (IL) took my $500 minimum deposit to order the 2005 Mustang, so I am VERY happy -- got a Satin Silver Metallic GT in Premium Trim w. Shaker 1000 sound system, 17" upgrade rims (for Winter, at least), and all options except that "loud" option with the red leather seats. That was just a bit too much, even for me. He told me I can expect to pick it up in early October [unless Chevy execs hold hands and block the Ford shipping docks]. :nono:
Anyways, the dealer had only the order guide found on this site to place the actual order, so I literally signed a generic "Bill Of Sale" form with my specified details and package codes. The salesperson forewarned me (and wrote it down) that I agree to pay full sticker price -- no haggling -- as if I felt that was even possible to get my hands on a new 05'.
My question(s) now, since the salesperson knew NOTHING of the 2005 (I really was giving him more details than he could give ME -- other buyers will validate this, I'm sure). Where are the "Sequential Taillights"? I have them on my 99', but thought Ford put them on the production model as OEM. Is it possible they are a subtle feature not listed? Next, why isn't there a sunroof option? -- I refuse to go after-market on this one thing and let people chainsaw the roof. Finally and most petty, the 2004 GT Mach 460 stereo has "satellite capability" as per the Ford Web site... has anyone heard of the new Mustang having such an option via dealer installation? Thanks! :flag2:

How :gay:
If you have to have sequential lights, install the aftermarket kit yourself. Everyone needs to remember that the MUSTANG supports a very large and loyal aftermarket following. If Ford put everything on the car we wanted, the aftermarket support for the Mustang would
itself to the bottom.
What good does a sunroof do when your running the 1/4 mile, or blasting down the highway at 155mph?? I really hate the manufacturers have made us think we NEED sunroofs on cars. It only adds to the cost of the car, and most people don't want it, but manufacturers usually package a Moonroof/Sunroof with other highly desired equipment packages.

Yea Id rather have sequetials aftermarket instead of EVERY SINGLE ONE having it
Believe it or not, a moonroof actually affects handling as well, adding nearly 100lbs to the highest part of the car.

I still dont know why I'm just not feeling for moonroofs in mustangs. I have it in my current car, but I never thought to want one in my stang(s)
Now I DID like T-tops in my 86, if they didn't have them, I wouldn't have gotten a moonroof though.
Funny enough, If we get mustangs with aftermarket sunroofs in used, they are VERY hard to sell, people come in and 'UGH, sunnroof'. Its just not a mustang thing.

I loved my 86 GT w/ T-tops. Ts are impractical, but I love them anyway! That is one only things I love about those F-bodies, they are pretty much the last cars in the world to have Ts.

My Mazda 6 has a sunroof. It's OK and I've used it a few times but for the most part it just stays closed. One thing I do like about it is I can crack it open during the hot summer months and it lets some of the heat out while its parked. Otherwise I could live without it.

I personally like the moonroof/sunroof for the extra light and air that it gives the driver. Namely the extra sunlight I get... Not so much because the dealerships or automakers say so.
To be honest, I'm not really going to race the car at all (outside of smoking ricers off the line at stoplights). I'm buying the Mustang because of the name and the looks, that and it's the only car on my dreamlist I could afford (The Jag & Viper are a ways down the road!). That and I'm 23 so I want that sporty car that is fun to drive, before I hit my 40's and settle on the more luxury classed cars.

What exactly is the difference in sequential tail lights and the ones we will have on our 'stangs?
*EDIT* I just saw it explained in another thread. : )

Sequantials are awsome...but there is a certain satisfaction when you alter your car to your liking and don't fit in with the masses.

I feel even better when it works when I am done with it.

They dropped sequential turn signals several months ago, and it's been more than 15 years since Ford offered a sunroof on Mustang.

I have a working 8 track in my '78 MII Ghia. Just need some new tapes -- no Elvis, Country, or Gospel; Want replacements for my rock 'n roll tapes that got distorted. Guess I could put that in my new '05.
