My license plate is in it. Everyone I see always covers their plates when they take pics, why is this? I have a vanity plate and I dont get it?

Well I'd avoid showing a video of my plate if the video shows something illegal. Like say, you running from the cops, illegal street racing, you just robbed a store, etc...

No covering up here!

I think it's mostly to keep away the weirdo's on the Internet, you never know who's out there trolling around filling out a list like the guy in Billy Madison. Some guy sits around, finds your plate, looks you up in the DMV and decides to stalk you, it takes all kinds you know.

On a completely unrelated note, I looked up your plate and just bought a 10 pack of diapers so I can make the trip without stopping. It rubs the lotion on it's skin...

Well if you are doing a big burnout in the vid and someone informs your insurance company about the vid, kiss your insurance goodbye or at least watch your rates go up. Yes, they do have the right to do that and I have seen it happen.

Lookin good, might have to do a blackout panel for my Vista. My first love is still the CDC ducktail, just can't bring myself to replace my trunklid/GT500 wing to do it.

How are the cops with that license plate frame?

-The blackout makes a nice difference. I wasn't sure at first but it grew on me real quick. Now I'm thinking blacking out the taillights as well. Hmmmmm...?
-As for the frame, it's totally illegal in NJ. You can't cover any part of the frame and as you see "Garden State" is covered but I have yet to be pulled over for it or what it says! Quick story: wife was trailing me in her RX8 and ran a yellow/red to keep up. Gets pulled over for it. Thankfully officer only gave an obstruction ticket.

What Adrenalin said +1 so be careful!

I don't bother to black out my plates anymore. Its not a difficult task to find me if you really wanted to.

what I don't get about covering the plate online is what about the wackos that see your plates everytime you drive your car? we don't cover our plates in the real world and the vast majority (probably 99.99%) have no issues, so why cover them online?
