Sneak Peak - 3V Sheet Metal Intake
Not quite done yet but thought I would show you what we have so far. Will accept GT or Shelby throttle body and have the throttle body in stock location for an easy swap. The one pictured is not stock height but the final version will be.
For those not familiar with these type intakes, they are not cheap and not for everyone. But for the right combo, it can be the key! This one is for a 2005 Turbo project we are putting together.

The intake shown is only 1.5" inches taller than stock. If you take a good look at the stock intake, it's pretty tall already. The engine also doesn't have any valve covers so that makes it look taller.
As far as comparing to the MMR, I've never seen one in person. Like I said, ours will bolt on and the throttle body will be in the stock location. this will make it easy to put on a car that already has a powr adder.
Based on the pics of the MMR, I like our runner design better...of course.

It's really hard to say. The stock intake is quite good really. This intake is intended for pretty extreme combos. This one will be used on a car with a 88mm turbo at 30 psi. We will definitely test it on less extreme combos of course. For high boost setups like I quoted, it will be the only choice IMO. For more mild combos, testing will be the only way to say if it will be worth it.
