Slipping clutch
Slipping clutch
Last week I noticed for the first time that my clutch was slipping. It was slipping in 1st gear around 3500rpm. The engine just seemed to spin without the car moving much. It doesn't seem to slip in any other gears. I didn't think I would need a clutch so soon after my Whipple install but I guess I do. Could having too much traction cause a clutch to slip? Ever since I got my 20x10 wheels and 295 size tires and LCA relocation brackets, I can't seem to burn rubber. The car just hooks and goes. Anyway, I've read a bunch of threads on different clutches and I think I want the Exedy Mach 500 clutch. I want to stay away from Spec clutches since I've heard some people aren't very happy with them. Does anyone have the Exedy Mach 500 clutch and how do you like them? I'm thinking of using the stock flywheel with the Exedy clutch or maybe a Spec billet steel flywheel? Would there be problems with this setup? Thanks!
