Should My Stang Get A Makeover?
Well I've filed my tax's and it turns out I'll be getting a decent amount back.
I think its time that the Mustang gets a makeover! I've been wanting to do this for a while, but been too busy dumping performance parts in the car, never got a chance to make the exterior look nice
I want your personal thoughts on what you think of my mustang overall. I wont hate you or give you a dirty look on your thoughts. I will value your thoughts and put them into consideration
It is determined that its going into the body shop to get the stripes painted on, goodbye vinyl!
Now I have made a few slight modifications to the exterior as well.
Some of you may notice the GT300 rocker panel stripes. It was great when I had it, but every now and then I go to car shows or meets and people come up to me and are like "whats a GT300?" and when I tell them why I did it, I get a disgruntled look like wtf. kinda feel like I made an embarassing mod to the car by doing that.
should I keep the rocker panel stripe, get a new one or just go back to being the body color??
second I removed the GT badges from the fenders to compensate the GT300 rocker panel look and put the V6 pony package badges on there instead. should I go back to the GT emblems, get new badges or keep the V6 emblems?
I even thought about throwing the Roush Hood Scoop on the hood? Ever since I've seen the roush scoop on another members car, it always has looked great and gives the front end a meaner look. Should I go for it or keep the hood stock??
Please everyone, your opinions and your thoughts....

My opinion...
Get the hood scoop.
Paint the stripes.
Keep the ponys.
Loose the side stripe or at least the GT300 designation.
I have a 281 badge on my hood scoop and have to explain it all the time. It is not worth it.

If I were you I'd go ahead with painting the stripes. I'd drop the rocker stripes for now and keep the Pony badges. Fake hood scoops are....well....fake. In fact I'd take those side ones back off. Maybe go with a ram air hood or something. Other then that I wouldn't do much else because you have a clear ride.

Saleen hood for sure. And maybe CDC ducktail or possibly spoiler delete. This will be my next mod (in a year or two when I'm done working on the house).
Hey, didn't you used to be FD? Why did you go to the dark side?!
I train with fire fighters at work, that's why I ask.

I would lose the GT300 part of the rocker stripe
Hood scoop is fine
I would replace the quarter window louvers with the ones from SHR
Otherwise, car looks great!

paint stripes on yes
lose rocker stripes yes
keep tri-bar ponies yes
no fake scoops! hood looks good as is. Everyone has scoops on their Mustang these days - the aftremarket hoods look good the Roush and Ford fake scoops look like junk.

OK, here's my two cents, I'd paint the stripes, add the Roush scoop and change the mirrors to the Agent 47 retro mirrors. Otherwise I'd leave it alone as it looks good.

Add Silverhorse goodies like rear medallion and louvers yes!
I never had any problem with fake hood scoops on our cars. Your engine actually makes quite a bit of power, so who cares if it isn't functional? Seriously. Why do folks change wheels or go with 20 inchers that add more weight and make the handling worse? Because it looks cool. And it does! But those aren't necessary either and can hamper performance. So as long as your car makes power, who cares if it doesn't ACTUALLY draw air from the scoop IMHO. Otherwise, all the cool stuff we do for looks is just pi$$ing in the wind anyway and we should all go out and get an Ariel Atom.
At the end of the day, if you look at your car and you like what you see, you did the right thing.

Paint stripes: if you can afford it (est $1000)
Pony emblems: keep
Scoop : only if functional
rocker stripes: ditch the GT300. I've seen 1st Gen GT's with just "GT" in between the stripes, which IMO looks almost as good as GT350 or GT500. You could even change it to a white "Ford" logo or one from your favorite tuner/parts manufacturer. But honestly, the rocker stripe really divides up side profile of the car so the body doesn't look as tall as truck panels (one of my few complaints of this body style). It's a good thing.

I think your car looks great.
Paint stripes at the most.
Louvers look great, mirrors look good, I don't mind the side stripe either. I think you have a great looking car and you shouldn't mess with it much. IMO

I feel less is more. I'd remove the side scoops, the rocker stripe and paint the shelby stripes silver. Other than that I wouldn't add any more to it.
Nice color choice btw I still get compliments on the sonic blue color.

I'm leaning towards this.
Painted Stripes.
Removing the Side Stripe.
Trufiber SH-GT hood
GT500 Replica Spoiler
Putting the GT badges back on
Shelby Razor Wheels (silver or chrome)
kinda leaning towards that......

You're car looks great now, but here are a few suggestions.
-Paint the stripes (I'm not sure what the name of the style is, but add the pinstriping on the outside of each stripe to make the strips look wider)
-Replace window louvers with SHR louvers
-No to the Roush scoop, but good call on the trufiber hood
-Rocker stripe, either make it solid or lose it all together
-Put the GT emblems back on
-Tint the windows
Make sure to post the pictures when you're done.
