Should I be worried?

Question

I ordered an 05 GT Vert in Legend Lime back in February (week of the 14th) and my dealer still has no information regarding my Stang. In fact, they don't have any information on any of the verts they ordered for anyone or themselves.

My question is, what happens if they close out the model year before building my Mustang and I end up with an 06? They are discontinuing Legend Lime for the next model year.

Would I end up having to pick another color?

We've actually already found out that LL won't be an option next year. It's being replaced by Gold Lime I believe which is almost if not identical to LL.

GO to your dealer. Ask for a DORA. Google Ford's VOPC and use the information from the ERL to get the status of your order. The dealer (sales manager or person who orders cars for the dealership) should also be able to show you a status of your order. I would think they would be able to look it up for you. The other thing you can do is call Ford customer service and ask them for a status...but I think you will still need your order number. I ordered a week after you and was awarded a build week of May 16th only last week, and dealer has made no effort to tell me diddly-squat. If you trust them you can wait and see what happens (sheilds up Scotty) or you can MANAGE THEM.....you're paying, go get it

Since there are different colors and options on the 06 (and the price is different), I would assume that people whose orders get bumped are going to have to start over again.

Legendary Lime is for this year and for 06 its lime gold .I sent my car over to a painter and he said that its a "pearl base paint" for the LL 05 which has a silver tone to the paint .
I'm going to take a guess that the 06 is a pearl paint with a "gold " tone to the paint ...Same base of paint but different tone ,I guess we will see soon.

I got in touch with a very helpful girl at Ford's customer service number. Unfortunately the computers were acting glitchy so she suggested I call back this morning. (Now I have to wait for 8 am Eastern )

She did say that 10 to 14 weeks was pretty much standard for order to delivery and anything quicker is just good luck. She also told me that even though the new model year's ordering banks open mid 05 they won't actually being making them in mass production for a while, probably August.

One last important thing she said was that Ford will do their best to honor my order as I placed it, and she didn't see any reason why I wouldn't get Legend Lime with an order that early.

Granted, I'm not sure of where she gets her info from, but as a Ford employee I'm going to go ahead and put my faith in her for now.
