I think over the winter I am going to do several mods. while waiting for Spring to get here.

Anyone else thinking about installing the shorty headers? Do you think it will be difficult at all?

Just wondering what everyone else may be doing.

There is a LOT more room to manuever in the engine bay of the '05. I know guys who did their own work installing long-tube headers on their New Edge cars; the '05 should be a comparative piece 'o cake.

shorties have relatively nothing on stock manifolds....do longtubes...they sound better, looknicer, and add more hp...trust me if your going through the trouble of doing headers ...just do long tubes...thats what i want to do but the only ones out right now are JBA and they are 1600 a pop

I know after I finally get a 2005 or 2006 Mustang GT I will be looking for every possible way to get more ponies short of cracking open the engine or doing a complete engine swap. Hmmm 2005 with a 351....

So there is no gain with the shorty headers? I was trying to be careful while under warranty, and some have posted that the longs will void the warranty but the shorts won't.

I've seen that as well about the long tubes, but the problem is that the factory exhaust already looks like shorty headers, so the gain would prolly be minimal at best. Definitely not worth the money invested.

Perhaps so, but are you going to spend that kind of money simply for better looking exhaust?

Be safe. Ask your dealer's shop.
Each one is different.
And don't forget, if you have a L-M dealership around, they can do warranty work too.
