The advantage to buying a shorty instead of cutting yours, is that you can stick your long one in the trunk for those days you are traveling farther away from home, and put the short one on for everyday use.

My Crown Vic has the radio antenna integrated with the rear defroster grid. I don't understand why this isn't available on the Mustang GT or Focus. The whip antenna really detracts from the rest of the car.

I read somewhere, though it was a point of much disagreement, that the rear window angle is too steep for decent reception with that type of antenna.

Don't flame me, I'm not an engineer, just what I heard.
