But NONE of that made it look like a Shelby.

I would rather have mine perform like the Shelby (or better), than look like it.

Anything else will be considered a "want to be" Shelby 40 years from now. Just an old Mustang with some Shelby parts on it. You have to see 40 years ahead.

You guys are taking me all wrong. Fix your Mustang up the way you want. That is what the Mustang hobby is all about. I even put a Mach 1 scope and stripe, with hood pins on my 65 fastback way back in 1971. But that did not make it a Mach 1, but it looked awesome in its time, even raised the back end up. You will look back at the way the cars are being setup now and laugh about it in the future.I am just saying that if you want it to keep its value the best, a true Shelby over Shelby parts is the way to go. By the way 40 years goes by fast. It has taken me 34 year to get that real 70 Mach 1.

I might use factory parts from the SE's on my GT if I liked the look of them (ie: Shelby rear spoiler) but I would never make a SE clone out of my car. Again, why bother? Personalize, not plagerize.

I think using Shelby parts to upgrade your Mustang is absolutely fine. Making a complete clone might be going a bit too far but if that's your thing then go for it. I think the ultimate goal of anybody customizing their stang is to make it their own and that can be done with any combination of parts you want. The only thing I would object to would be re-badging the car as something it is not. That would just be cheesy!

I love the front bumper/fascia, but it looks like you'll need the hood to get the "look". Problem is, I don't like the Shelby hood. I wonder how the tilted pillars next to the lights would match up with the Saleen hood....

I would never badge my car as anything it isn't.
I really like the Shelby GT500 front clip (I feel confident that someone will end up offering it as a kit) and dash pieces. (Dark IUP looks nice, but I will just wait for this)

I wouldn't ever use the Shelby emblems on my GT. If I ever mod it, I may end up using a piece or two similar to those on the Shelby, but I want my car to look unique. If I'm going to spend money to mod it, I'm not going to try to make a copy of something.
But that's just my opinion. I've got nothing against people who re-badge their car. I just wouldn't do it, personally.

I have to agree with just about everybody...No badges but performance and body parts are all fair game as far as I'm concerned. If I like something and it improves either the look or performance, why not? The badges are not for either and who want's to be a poser.....

Anyone wanna buy me a Shelby?
I am in love with all the pieces and parts on it. Its my #2 Coveted vehicle. BUT I just couldn't see imitating it. I want the real deal there.
