Shaker 500 Question

Quick question about the Shaker 500.

I've had the car for about two weeks, and hadn't noticed this until this morning.

Sometimes when I start the car, the CD changer seems to go through some cycling for about 10 seconds or so.

Is that normal?

Mine only "cycles" when I toggle for next CD... sounds like yours is doing this on startup. Try removing all your discs, put one in, and see if it still trys to cycle.

Mine does this too. I"ve had it for about 2 1/2 weeks. I noticed the face read "initializing" once. Seems like it was when I went from the radio to the CD.

It didn't do it this morning. I hadn't even been using the CD. Chaulk it up to radio weirdness.

Anyway, I love this car more and more every day!

Mine also only does it when I change the CDs, not on starting it up...

If i'm wrong someone please chim in but this is what I have noticed ,when the battery is low because of the anti-theft being on or the car sitting for a long period of time and no start up for a while the radio will start to cycle on start up ,if the battery gets really low(near dead) because of the car being parked for 2 or more months without being started it seems that the CD player when the voltage drops enough will cycle on it's own killing the battery in the car even when the car is turned off.
I have had to disconnect the battery for the winter in the car when it is in storage ,between the anti -theft and the CD player it's just not helping the battery.
I noticed this last year haveing to jump start the stang and with only a few minuetes running for charge up the radio started to cycle and wouldn't stop even with the car and the radio itself turned off.

I have had the cycling problem as well as the initializing at random on start up when I had been listening to the radio when I shut it off. Then one night the alarm went off in the garage despite no reason to. I reset it and then noticed the cd player was playing at full blast. I thought it might be a result of the dealer installed Ford remote start and anti-theft.
As I was worried about a short etc, and the dealer was no help, I had them disconnect the Ford module and it has never happened again.

Well, mine hasn't "cycled" since I made the original post. For a while, I thought, as rdw states above, that it had something to do with having the radio on when I shut off the car, but I don't think that's it as the radio is usually on when I turn of the car and goes off when I open the door.

Weird.

Mine does it from time to time too not enough to be a problem just wierd. Haven't really noticed a pattern yet, totally random as far as I can tell.
